Some big changes …

So, I’ve been gone for awhile, huh. Apologies! I love this blog thing, but life got in the way and I wasn’t allowed to talk about what “got in the way” until recently. So, here goes …

I got a new job with my alma mater and I’m moving back to the Green Bay area.

NOT the westward California dreamin’ I thought would happen, but that can still happen some day. For now, this position just seemed too perfect to pass up. I’ll be working with a team on campus to plan events for our alumni in the midwest. How fun is that?! Planning events for the college I loved for four years? Sign me up!

Not sure what all that will entail, but so far it’s been a crazy amount of changes. I’m moving this weekend, then staying with my friend Saige all next week for my last week of work in Milwaukee and then back to GB I go. It’s been a rough couple of weeks of interviews, making huge life decisions, telling my current place of employment, telling my family/friends (though it seems my mom told the entire family already :P) and finding a place to live – all very, very fast.

It was a difficult decision because I’ve always dreamed of living in a city and now I’m going back to a “smaller city”, but I think it’ll be worth it. It’s not like I’m moving back to my hometown (no offense, hometown peeps – I’m just not in love with the tiny, tiny, tiny town) so that’s good. I’m not “moving back to Green Bay to be closer to home”, I’m moving to Green Bay for an amazing opportunity with a college that was my home for four years and has given me an opportunity to really dive into something I”m passionate about that unfortunately Milwaukee wasn’t giving me. We’ll see where it goes.

So, lots of life changes are coming up soon that I’m excited to blog about. I’ve even been contemplating dappling in the vlogosphere as well. We’ll see. For now, I’m just going to get used to looking out my window at my apartment at a cornfield instead of people partying and puking in the city alley behind my Milwaukee apartment. I’m going to miss it (minus the puking), but right now this is the best choice for me. I’m living in a tiny, old apartment now that’s eating all of my money while working two jobs, which is draining the life out of me. At least with this new job I’ll get a lot more for my money (lower cost-of-living, hey!) and a realllllllllly big apartment.

I’ll try to update you in the next week and then I plan on blogging on a more scheduled basis once I’m all settled in. Plus, I’m sure you’re all dying to see pictures of my new cornfield neighbor. 😉 Kidding, but the pictures of my college will be worth it. So beautiful. Here’s one I found on this blog.

I hope you all have a good weekend! Send some good juju my way – this is going to be a crazy emotional rollercoaster of a week!
