Best Vacation (Day 7)

I’m excited for this post, mostly because I love talking about San Francisco. Today’s prompt for Blogtober14 is best/worst vacation, so I’m obviously going to talk about SF. But first, can you even have a bad vacation? Maybe it’s because I’ve been on a total of like, three vacations in my entire life, so I haven’t had the “pleasure” of having a bad one. Anyways, I’m rambling.

Helene in Between Blogtober

I’ve actually written about my San Francisco trip right after it happened here, here, here and here. (Fun Fact: I actually had these posts hidden when I had them moved over to my new blog – they’re from 2012 – but just re-published them for the sake of this post. But no, I’m not with the boy that’s mentioned in these blogs anymore. But the trip was still fantabulous!)

Lombard Street!

Lombard Street!

If you know me at all, I will bring up two places in this world at least once in our conversations together. San Francisco and Ireland. One of which I’ve been to and the other I dream of going to as soon as I have enough money to pay for spaghettios, let alone a trip overseas. My apartment and office at work are full of San Francisco-themed items. I have a huge poster framed at home, coasters, old-time prints, fun etsy prints and pretty much anything else SF-themed you can think of.

Golden Gate Bridge 1

While I love Lombard Street, Haight-Ashbury and all of the wonderful (butt-kicking, literally) hills, the Golden Gate Bridge is just something I can’t describe. It’s something you need to see in person from every angle humanly possible. Trust me – I made my (ex)boyfriend take me to see it from as many different sides as possible, and then I made him take me again at night. He was a good guy and brought me all over, taking pictures of me and dealing with my uncontrollable squeals of, “DID YOU SEE THE BRIDGE?!” I have a serious obsession with that beautiful piece of architecture.

H.A. Houses

I want to go back again someday to take in the city with a little more time than I had on my trip in 2012. I am fortunate that I was able to go a couple of years ago, but who wouldn’t want to go back? I feel like four days wasn’t enough to see everything. Who wants to go with me?? Plus, they named a street after me. Granted, it was pretty much an alley, but that’s neither here nor there.

Jessie Street

Also, In-N-Out Burger is INSANE. How do you California people stay thin with these things?!

Oh my yumminess!! In-N-Out is quite possibly my favorite part about the west coast. And this coming from a girl who loves sunshine and oceans…. Favorite part. No joke. In-N-Out becomes part of my travel plans when I visit. Every time. I miss it so much.
