Goooood morning, friends! How are you all feeling on this wonderful Monday morning? Wanna know how I’m feeling?
Wisconsin, why. WHY are the negative temperatures necessary. Why. Why. Why.
So as I sit here with a huge blanket and a space heater pointed directly at my body, let’s remember how awesome the weekend was!
Friday started out at work (obviously), lunch with a coworker and then a lonnnnnng afternoon of wondering what the heck was happening that night for my early Valentine’s Day. I mean, even though Harry Potter is my valentine, I was cheating on him with another pretty cool guy that night, but I had no idea what we were doing. What does that do to the girl that’s a major planner? Makes her go crazy, that’s what. Plus, I just don’t understand Valentine’s Day. I’m not good at this stuff.
By the time I got home, I had about 15 outfits planned out in my head. I finally put on the one that I reallllly wanted to wear, even though I knew I would be overdressed but … so is life. I’m always overdressed.
After prancing around my apartment feeling pretty awesome about how I looked, my guy (it’s very difficult telling a story about someone when you don’t want to divulge too much about them I’m finding out) picked me up and we went to a cool restaurant I’ve never been to in Green Bay – Chefusion. After a super yummy dinner, we transferred from our table up to the bar and enjoyed the band that was playing with a couple of drinks. I, of course, decided this was the perfect time to ask him, “So, how do you think this thing between us is going?” I’m such a smoooooth operator. Luckily he just laughs at me when I make things awkward.
After Chefusion we went to a bar near our apartments for a bit and then back home for the both of us since we had to get up early the next day. I must really like the guy, because for some dumb reason I volunteered to drive him two-hours at 6:30 a.m. to the airport.
After about three-hours of sleep for me, I got out to my garage in the morning (negative temps, remember) only to find that my garage door was wide open. Oooooh, good. Perfect. I had a car wash the night before so, of course, my latch on my door was frozen so I couldn’t get it to latch shut.
After about 10-minutes of pure panic and irritation with my stupid car I finally got the door closed and went to pick him up and get him to the airport. After a rough two-hours to Milwaukee (my stomach thought that would be the BEST time to act up), I finally got him to the airport and I left to go spend the day with some friends in the city. Don’t worry, my bad luck wasn’t over yet.
Once I left the aiport, I took the wrong highway and was shot all the way to the west side of Milwaukee so I finally got onto the RIGHT highway only to get off on the wrong exit and get shot over the Hoan bridge instead of into the city. *facepalm* After lunch with a girl friend at Simple Cafe, I headed out to meet my friend Saige and her husband at Bel Air Cantina (one of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee). We went shopping and then I headed to Trader Joes for literally 10 minutes (soooo busy) and then off to meet my friend Andrea for Starbucks. Don’t worry, though. I got lost on my way there, too. Thanks, Siri.
When I finally got home that night, I passed out at 8 and didn’t wake up again until 9 a.m. on Sunday. It. Was. Glorious.
Since I woke up to a temperature of NEGATIVE 18 (#nopenopenope), I decided that I wasn’t leaving the apartment all day. I ate an entire box of chocolate (I wish I was joking … the 3 lb weight gain on the scale this morning reminded me) and watched YouTube, did laundry and finished the day watching an entire season of Scandal. Why have I waited so long to watch this?!
So, after a weekend like that, I’m back at it today, forcing myself to eat well and start working out (though I just realized that I left my workout clothes at home DAMMIT). At least I don’t have anymore chocolate in my house, right?
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun for Val/Galentines day?
