Weekend Recap #5 + Giveaway!

Good morning, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I know I did. I definitely took advantage of my last full weekend off for … well, let’s just say a really long time. I saw that the weather is supposed to hit 50 (!!!) today, so I went a little to crazy with the Spring outfit. Leaving in 32 degree weather with bare legs was probably not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, but hey.

Pretending it's spring

Time to link up with Katie and Meg for another Weekend Recap/Marvelous Monday! There’s some fun throwback pictures shuffled in the mix, so be on the lookout.

Friday I practically ran out of work as soon as the clock hit 4:30. I touched up my makeup (isn’t it funny that sometimes you dress up more for your friends than a guy? Just me?) and modeled my new sunglasses.

I met with my good friend Mary out at Phin for some sushi. I’ll be honest and say that I’ve definitely had better sushi at other restaurants, but it was so much fun.

Afterwards we headed over to a martini bar for a drink and ended up leaving around 10 because we were both tired. Party animals! And since I suck at taking pictures of me WITH other people, here’s a picture of Mary and I from forever ago.

Mary and JessieShe’s my beautiful tall friend that likes to remind me that it’s not okay that a super short girl dates all the tall guys (she’s engaged, so she doesn’t care personally). I like to remind her that I just don’t care that tall girls hate me and will happily take all the tall guys.

Saturday I woke up early and headed to the gym for a leg workout!

After that, I got coffee with my college friend Ed (again, I suck at taking pictures) who was visiting. I haven’t seen him in years, so it was great to see him! Since I didn’t take a pic, here’s one of the only ones I could find of us together. He’s the one flipping off the camera. Classy. 😉 #college

Okay, here’s a nicer one.

ANYWAYS, after I was hopped up on caffeine I drove to Fond du Lac to have lunch and catch up with my friend Jenn who I haven’t seen since I moved back up here! I was feelin’ pretty bad ass in my (fake) leather coat, sunglasses and super high heeled boots. Don’t know why I decided to dress up so much, but it’s fun sometimes.

Jenn and I talked forEVER (though our waitress sucked) and it was so nice to see her. Again, I’m the worst blogger ever, so here’s one of Jenn and me from the day I left Milwaukee.

After lunch, I stopped in Oshkosh to look at the outlets for workout pants. Still no luck! I headed home, did a call with some AdvoCare team members (including my best friend, Michelle!) Annnnnd, another throw back picture just to keep the theme going …

Well, throwback to a few months ago, at least.

The rest of the night I just hung around my apartment and was lazy. It was awesome!

Sunday was a super productive day for me. I got up, did a short HIIT workout on the treadmill at the gym, headed to Target for some groceries and a few essentials and grabbed some Chipotle on my way home. I was HANGRY!

After putting away the food, eating and grabbing a Dunkin Donuts coffee (I was cranky and needed something to help my mood!) I set off to overhaul clean my apartment. I bought a new vacuum, put it together and vacuumed my whole apartment. I dusted, did three loads of laundry, cleaned mirrors, took apart/cleaned my fan, lit candles, did dishes, etc. Whew!

As you can see, Ollie helped by playing with the box.

I wrote up my April calendar (and cried a little because I’m exhausted just looking at it) and meal prepped some food for the week!

After everything was done, I curled up on the couch watching “She’s All That” (LOVE that movie) and chatted with a few people. Somehow my hair ended up looking like CRAZY. Crazy cleaning hair, I suppose.

And that was my weekend for you! I have to be honest in saying that I’m really nervous for April. I know you should never “wish for the future”, but I can’t wait until May. I’m going to try REALLY hard not to get burnt out this month, so wish me luck. I have events every weekend on top of 40 hours a week +16-20 at my part-time job. AND I need to stick to working out. Oh man oh man oh man! If anyone has any pointers for staying sane/healthy, let me know!

Also, I’m a part of a $150 Anthropolgie Gift Card giveaway on Sarah’s blog!

How did your weekend go? How do you stay healthy when you’re insanely busy?

    • Jessie says:

Very true! And thank you! I don’t love my couch so much, but it’ll do for now. The bright pillows helped spice it up a bit. 🙂

  1. Megan says:

Sounds like a busy weekend! But.. you definitely have to make the most of time off if you’re not going to get a break for awhile! I feel like I’m the only one of my friends that likes to take pictures. But then I end up NOT taking enough pictures because I don’t want to be that annoying person always has their camera out. Haha.. But I love throwback pictures too! I think just taking things one day at a time helps me stay sane when life is super busy! And writing things down so I don’t forget!

    • Jessie says:

Those are all wonderful ideas! I have about 5 calendars, so hopefully I’ve got the writing things down under control. 😉

  2. Sarah says:

Vacuuming, doing laundry and lighting candles… sounds like my day off. Love my candles, they put me in a different mood.

  3. Mary S says:

Just decided to creep and lookie! I’m Internet famous! And just my luck, you picked a pic where I had drunk eyes and crimped hair that I hadn’t yet realized wasn’t a great look for me… 🙂
