Weekend Recap #9

Good morning my sweet, sweet friends. How was your weekend? I’m hoping it was as fabulous as you all are.

Don’t mind the weird good mood – I somehow got up at 5:45 a.m. this morning after barely any sleep and worked out my legs at the gym. I’ll crash soon. In the meantime, linking up with with Katie.

My Friday ended up being a pretty fantastic day. After writing my Friday Favorites for the week, I booked it through work, trying to get as much done in the morning as possible since my weekend was full of events. I went home for lunch, only to find that my best friend Michelle sent me an AdvoCare care package – yea!

There was also some Spark in the package, so it was probably the best thing I’ve gotten in the mail in awhile.

I was able to leave work a tiny bit early on Friday, so I headed out for a 2-mile walk and then somehow convinced myself to go to Biker Chicks (an all-female cycling class at my gym). I picked myself up some Chipotle and headed back home for the night. My hamstrings were KILLING me between the Tone It Up Daisy Duke’s workout I did the other day and the biker chicks class, so I spent the night cursing at my foam roller. I know, party animal – this one.

Foam Rollin

The next morning I got up bright and early (okay, so at 8 a.m.) and headed into the gym for some arm/shoulder/back workouts before my event. On my way out, I stopped at the Herbalife stand in my gym (it’s never open when I’m there!) and got a Chocolate Cake Batter shake. Because duh.

Calm the crazy eyes, Jessie.

Saturday I had our softball alumni day and it was C-O-L-D. It decided not to get above 48 and the wind was awful. The event turned out pretty well, though!

Softball Alumni Day

The best part of the day? Meeting this guy. My friend Brooke asked what the dog’s name was and when she said “Bubba” I was like, “of course it is.” Look at him! Totally a Bubba.

BubbaAfter the event (and saying good-bye to Bubba), Brooke and I headed back to our office and then met over at the gym to spend some quality time warming up in the steam room and the hot tub. Best. Idea. Ever! We then went back to her place, ate some dinner and watched a movie. My “clean eating” for the weekend did not happen, but you’ll see that whole breakdown on Thursday when I do my final thoughts on the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge!

Sunday morning I woke up early again to head to the gym. This time I just did cardio – my TIU 5K split up between the treadmill, elliptical and stair master. Then I headed back to the fields for our baseball alumni day. The weather was much nicer (hence the nice little forehead sunburn I’m rockin’) and the stands were crazy full. It was a long weekend of work, but when I get multiple thank-yous from our alumni, it’s totally worth the hectic hours.

After the event, I headed straight to Target for aloe for my forehead and walked out with $150 worth of stuff … but I remembered the aloe!

Target Haul

The funny part? I talked myself out of another dress, ha! I had three in my cart. Loving the maxi dresses at Target and I really needed a new swimming suit. Saturday in the hot tub was the first time I’ve worn a swimming suit (around other people) in almost three years and my suit isn’t the most flattering anymore, so I bought this black one! Still not 100% confident, but I’m getting there. 🙂 And the shoes because they’re sparkly – I don’t have to justify that.

Once I found out I didn’t have enough hangers for my clothes, I decided to go through some stuff that I never wear (you know, because who wants to buy new hangers??). Tried on all of my work pants and absolutely none of them fit. Good thing I wear a lot of dresses.

dont fit

Mind you, these pants have already been taken in by my mom and the entire back is elastic to try to make them fit. I think it’s about time I part ways with them.

Oh, and Oliver “helped”.

And now we’re at today! I got up at 5:45, much to my body’s dismay …

early workout

Let’s just always assume that my bed will never be made and not judge me for it, mmkay?

And now, let’s do this Monday! I’m wearing my new blue dress and new shoes today, even though it probably won’t even hit 60. Don’t care!

Are any of you fans of maxi dresses?
Who else got in trouble at Target this weekend?

    • Jessie says:

Thanks! It really is the best. And the shake was SO good. Luckily for me, the herbalife place isn’t open very often during the times I go there, otherwise I’d be getting one of those $6.50 shakes every day!

  1. Liz says:

I LOVE Target! I also love that dress you got! I don’t remember seeing it there but I’m going to go look for it! Not that I need one, but they seem to make them the right length to fit me too usually.

    • Jessie says:

The lengths were perfect on those for me. I’m 5’1″ and usually my mom has to take everything up for me, but they fit! Granted, walking upstairs I did trip one time … 🙂 I think they’re new! I haven’t seen the particular dresses I’ve gotten there before!

    • Jessie says:

Isn’t he the sweetest?? I wish I could’ve kept him, but apparently his owner wasn’t okay with that. And 4 a.m.?! Dang, girl!

    • Jessie says:

Awww! Aries is such a cool name. The shake was unreal – so good! It’s just the flavor-of-the-month, though, so I might have to try to get back before Friday …

  2. Christina says:

Girl, look at your results already 🙂 your pants picture is extra motivation for me at bodypump tonight! I also got in trouble at target this weekend, mostly it was all non fun stuff, until I saw the patio accessories sale!

  3. Megan says:

I’m a little slow to this post but better late than never!! Sounds like a busy weekend! Your gym has shakes, like protein shakes or something? The Y has coffee for people which I thought was kind of strange! I went to Target twice, ugh! I did end up getting a t shirt since they are only $6 this week & had to control myself with their dresses!

    • Jessie says:

Yeah! We have an entire cafe, actually, but there’s also a shake bar that’s open a few times per week. The gym is more of a “club” feel, so that’s why we’ve got the fancy stuff. 🙂 Oh man! The t-shirts are $6?! Now I might need to go back!
