Hi, my name is Jessie and I’m pretty sure I’m not even fully awake. Is it illegal to drive somewhere on two to three hours of sleep? Don’t answer that.
Anyways, let’s talk about weekends! This is going up a day late because technically this is my Monday (then again, technically it’s my Wednesday since I only have a three day week at the college this week). Too many technicallys in one sentence. Moving on … (Linking up with the wonderful Katie)
First of all, let me say thank God for SnapChat because apparently that’s the only way I document my life. I should just make a blog post out of my SC feed. It’s honestly about 99% of the photos that you’ll see.
Friday my boss let us out an hour early (YES) so I went home and … napped. HA. After a short nap, I took off to spin class and then met my sister out at Old Chicago for dinner. We ran into VS for the 7 for $25 sale and then the rest of the night we spent hanging out on the couch and going to bed early. #partyanimals
Saturday I woke up, headed to the gym for an early morning workout and then my dad came into town! We chatted about our Ireland trip (which just turned into me getting anxiety because this trip is so overwhelming to plan!) and then headed to Red Robin for lunch where my dad tried to explain boys to me (he wasn’t much help – just told me “Remember, guys are stupid” – thanks, Dad.) and then we hung out at my apartment for a little while longer. After that, my sister and I headed off to see Pitch Perfect 2 (a second time for me) and then I dragged her out for a walk. After our walk, we had
pizza breadsticks and then I headed out to Celebrate De Pere (basically a little baby fair) with a friend. Still no photographic evidence – apparently my SC stories didn’t start until Sunday.
So, Sunday! I woke up late, watched some tv with my sister and headed out for the day.
Our first stop was HuHot because I was slightly hungover (seriously Jessie – TWO DRINKS #old) and wanted some serious sodium. Ha.
After HuHot, we headed off to see yet another movie (and eat yet another $10 piece of candy and soda). This time we saw Hot Pursuit. I heard awful reviews for it, but it had me giggling the whole time so I thought it was pretty good. Granted it’s not going to win any Oscars, but that wasn’t something I was too worried about. The day was nasty with tons of rain storms, so we just stayed inside the rest of the night, watching fireworks from my bedroom window.
Monday rolled around and I spent most of the morning catching up on my YouTube subscriptions and trying not to whine about the humidity. I finally decided to try to tame my frizz ball humidity hair with my flat iron and put on something besides an over-sized t-shirt.
Maxi skirts – for when you want to look put together, but really just haven’t shaved your legs.
My sister and I headed off to the mall to look for a jean jacket for her (no luck) and I tried on a ton of a clothes and then had buyer’s remorse and didn’t buy anything. So, normal shopping trip for the two of us.
After that, I dragged my sister out for an hour-long walk since it was nice out.
I wanted to take advantage of the little bit of warm weather with no rain, so we headed off to Hagemeister Park to sit on the patio.
How I’m not completely sunburned, I have no idea.
The waitress talked me into the “Ultimate Bloody Mary” (mostly because she told me it came with beef sticks) but this whole “chaser” thing was not a true chaser. I was not expecting two full drinks!
And then I spent the rest of the evening not sleeping because it was so dang humid in my apartment. I need one of those stand-alone air condition units, I think. Otherwise this is going to be another longgggg summer of no sleep.
How was your Memorial Day weekend? Did you do anything fun?
