It’s Monday, yayyyyyy. 🙂 At least I get to link up with Katie for another Marvelous Monday weekend recap!
Phew. What a weekend! I had to open the gym on Friday, but ended up taking the day off at my full-time job which worked out to my advantage. I got so much done! Once I was done working at the gym, I went home to try to take a nap but that didn’t happen. I did get in some quality couch time though before packing my stuff up for the weekend. I also caught a 12 p.m. cycling class which really got me excited for the day. After a late lunch and a little bit of cleaning, I grabbed my stuff, got a coffee (duh) and headed out into the torrential downpour to drive to Milwaukee to go to Saige’s!
I was obviously very excited. P.S. Apparently I wear this shirt a lot, because it was in last week’s Weekend Recap. No shame outfit repeater right here.
Once I got to Saige’s house in Milwaukee, I finally got to meet their new puppy, Nushi! Ohhhh my gosh, I love her.
After some serious puppy time (along with some girl chat – duh, it’s Saige and me) we headed off to an Italian restaurant that I can’t remember the name of, but it was really good! I got a sangria, and we shared some garlic bread and an amazing arugula salad before digging into our main courses. I got a dish with scallops and shrimp that was really good, but obviously forgot to take a picture of it.
After that we made an executive decision that even though we were both WAY too full, we obviously had to get froyo.
Once we got home, we got in as much girl chat as we could, but we both were passing out by midnight (which is WAY early for our chats) so we headed off to bed.
Saturday morning I hung out with Saige and her husband Joel (and Nushi – OBVIOUSLY) for awhile before they had to head out. I hung out with Nushi for a few more hours while lounging on my favorite chair (I really need an oversized chair at my place).
If you follow me on Snap Chat (you should – my name is JustJessie23 I think) you got the opportunity to see my entire weekend via SC story – ha. Sorrrrrrry.
The weather was absolutely horrible on Saturday, so I got ready at Saige’s before heading out to get sushi with my friend Heather at Fujiyama in Brookfield. I’m obviously awesome at taking pictures WITH my friends, as you can see. After some sushi and a quick coffee stop with Heather, I headed out to my friend Melissa’s house to get ready for the wedding. Melissa was my date to the wedding that night and we had so much fun!
The wedding itself was absolutely stunning and totally fit the bride’s style. The bride (Val) is a good friend of mine. She was my first roommate when I first moved to Milwaukee and was struggling to figure my shit out, so the fact that we’re still friends is unbelievable to me! I was NOT a very great roommate – ha!
The wedding was in a HUGE barn in Watertown, Wis. It was gorgeous and no detail was forgotten. There was sangria and old fashions and a bar and a nintendo station and an ice sculpture and barn cats and a canoe to put the presents in and donuts instead of a cake and FOOD TRUCKS.
I absolutely loved the look and feel of this wedding. Definitely Pinterest-able. 😉 And Val and Chris were so happy.
This really got my wedding planning blood pumping. Not for my own, of course (girlfriend doesn’t even have a boyfriend), but I’ve always wanted to get into wedding planning and this wedding just got my excitement flowing.
I really didn’t know anyone there besides Val (and Melissa, obviously), but Melissa went to high school with a bunch of them so it was a ton of fun!
After the wedding and some cuddling with Ruby Rae (Melissa’s cute pup), I headed to bed. Sunday morning we had some muffins and chat time, and then I headed off to one of my favorite places in the world – Trader Joes!
Some of those photos are from after I got home obviously, but you get the point. 🙂
After spending ALL THE MONEY at TJs, I decided to take the long way to the highway and drove through the city. I just miss it so much! I even got out of my car at one point to sit by the lake and when I drove away my eyes filled up with tears. Man oh man, I miss it!
After my “I miss Milwaukee” cry, I stopped for a coffee and headed back up to the wonderful world of Green Bay, Wis. 🙂 My sister is all moved out (wahhhhhh) so I got home, cleaned up, took a shower, put away my stuff and headed out to run some errands at the good ol’ Target. Which, of course, I forgot to take a picture of but still managed to spend $70.
I came home and got some stuff done and then cuddled up on the couch with a good movie and an even better cuddle partner (#imsogoodatdiscreet). Best way to end a weekend, in my opinion!
Now we’re off to a long Monday of working both jobs and I have an event later this week (woohoo!). Here’s to hoping it warms up – this space heater in my office has been on overdrive lately.
How was your weekend?
