Chicago Weekend Recap

Oh Monday … too soon. Thank God for this stuff.

Might as well just continue the bad eating habits from the weekend, right? (;

So I don’t have a ton of pictures from the weekend because, guess what? My phone actually was in my bag most of the time because I was enjoying myself. WHAT?!

So Friday night I met my friend Rachel at her work at 5 p.m. and headed off to Milwaukee to stay at Saige’s house to take care of her pup, Nushi. We got in, took Nushi for a walk and ate some dinner before parking ourselves in front of the Apple TV to watch friends until we fell asleep.

On Saturday, Rachel and I got up, took Nushi for another walk and then headed off to Chicago for the weekend for Saige’s husband’s (Joel) surprise 30th birthday party!! We got in, met everyone and waited for Joel to show up. He was super surprised (or just a very good actor) once he got there and we got ready to head out for a scavenger hunt!

Surprise Party

Not the best picture, but you get the idea!

The scavenger hunt was SO fun. Our team won (obviously) and we had so much fun running around some neighborhoods in Chicago doing weird funny things like the macarena in front of Wrigley Field and acting out a scene from The Office at the zoo.

Scavenger Hunt

After the scavenger hunt, we all got ready to head out to dinner and a few bars from the night. We started out at a place called Barcocina for dinner and drinks and then headed over to an arcade bar.

A few of us crazies stayed out after the arcade bar and headed off to another bar to dance. It was SO much fun, but SO hot.

Bar Time

We headed back to Joel’s brothers place to go to bed (and order some pizza to sober up). We were all SO exhausted on Sunday. I’ll only speak for myself here, but I’m way too old for that stuff. (: Saige, Joel, Rachel, Jeffrey (Joel’s brother) and I set out for brunch (after lots of cuddles with Jeffrey’s dog, Macaroni). Then all of us (minus Jeffrey and Macaroni) headed back to Milwaukee to drop off Saige and Joel, while Rachel and I made the extra trek back to Green Bay. By the time I got home, I had multiple naps before finally allowing myself to pass out at 9 p.m.

It was one of the most fun weekends I’ve had in a long time! Saige and Joel’s friends are all such amazing people and it was such a great weekend. So happy I was able to go!

Now, to lose all the weight I put on this weekend … Linking up with Katie!

    A scavenger hunt for a birthday sounds so much fun! Especially in Chicago of all places… I need to visit there again. Sounds like an awesome weekend!

    Sounds like a fun weekend- and now I am definitely craving another donut! I tried a new baker this past weekend and got one very similar to yours… but that was DAYS ago! 🙂
