Weekend Recap: Travel, Homecoming & Sleep

What do you mean it’s Monday already? How is that fair?

So the last time I blogged was last Wednesday (where I did a fun little survey thing if you’re interested) because I traveled to Milwaukee on Thursday for a conference for work! I miss Milwaukee like you wouldn’t believe – I want to move back so bad.

Work Travel

The conference was “meh”, but I met some cool people. I left around 5:30, went to my hotel (which I wish I had more pictures of) and hung out until Saige picked me up at 6:30 to go for drinks/dinner with her and Heather! I miss those two. Of course, I have zero pictures, though.

Friday I woke up and did not want to get out of bed for my conference. Luckily it was a short day for the sessions, so I was able to stop out at Trader Joes and Chipotle before heading back home. I’ll have a Trader Joe’s haul on my YouTube channel later this week!

Trader Joes

Chipotle

Back at the Brookfield Chipotle – the first place I ever had Chipotle and the restaurant that started my obsession.

I got back to De Pere and picked up the cookies for Saturday’s work event and headed back to the office to package everything up. And I had to give back my beautiful rental car.

Rental Car

I went to the mall with my mom for a little bit and then went home and went to bed as early as possible.

Then Saturday came! Time for Homecoming on campus. I loved homecoming when I was a student/early alum, but now I hate it because I have to work all day haha. Let’s just say it poured all morning when we had to stand outside doing a tailgate for four hours…

Homecoming

^^ Me pretending to be happy. It’s pretty obvious I was not.

After the tailgate, we put everything away and warmed up for an hour or so. Then the “after party” started up. That was pretty fun, but my coworker let me out a little early which was amazing.

Homecoming

Leaving early meant I got to meet up with my wonderful friend Sarah (or S-Van as I like to call her) and her coolio boyfriend.

Sarah

So much fun, but I got a little out of hand and had a few more drinks than the one I was intending to have and ended up staying out until past bar close (which was really late because of daylight savings) and made all kinds of intelligent decisions. #homecomingproblems So because of that, you will not be seeing any pictures from Sunday and you can just assume that the only thing I did was sit in my Harry Potter pajamas on the couch all damn day.

But today – today I got coffee and somehow made a sock bun work, so if that doesn’t say adult, I don’t know what does.

Coffee

P.S. that blanket scarf is beautiful and was $7 on Amazon. Granted, it took over a month to get here so it was like a present to myself because I forgot I bought it!

How was your weekend? And I’m interested – what is your coffee of choice?

Linking up with Katie!

I think it’s perfectly acceptable to get a little crazy for homecoming! Especially since you had the conference + work on a Saturday in the rain. You know what.. YOLO. I don’t even care if people don’t say that anymore. I am jealous that you were able to do a sock bun! I have one of those hair donut things & it’s always falling out! 🙁

Haha, who cares! I still say YOLO sometimes, too 🙂 I used an actual sock and, to be honest, 99.5% of the time, it doesn’t work but for some reason it did that day!
