Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday! Welcome back to Monday – boooooo. Linking up with Katie.

My weekend started a bit earlier than expected on Wednesday because there only ended up being one tennis court booked from 5-6 p.m. that night so I left early – woohoo! PLUS my full-time job let us out a little early after decorating the tree. I went to the gym then (other side of town – it’s confusing, I know) to put in my hours and got in a good lower body workout. So good that I felt like my legs were going to fall off. Is that good? We’ll pretend it is.

Decorating at Work

Thursday I woke up kinds of late and headed over to the gym for an upper body workout. I got ready at the gym and then headed over to my aunt’s house for Thanksgiving. One of my younger cousins (who is like, 15 or something) decided that he was going to shoot up about 5 inches. He’s 6’3″. It’s ridiculous! Plus he’s hilarious.

Thanksgiving Dinner

After lunch/dinner (I actually didn’t eat too much, but the weight on the scale would tell you differently) I headed back to my apartment with my mom to get ready for the Packer game. It was hands down the worst game I’ve ever gone to. Not only did the Bears beat us (SERIOUSLY), the weather was absolutely miserable. It didn’t stop raining once all night, plus it was windy and cold. I’d take a subzero game over that any day. At least cold you can dress for. No matter what you wore in the rain, it was going to suck. After the game we went back to my place, took a hot shower and went to bed.

Brett Favre

I slept in on Friday again and woke up not feeling so hot. I transferred myself from my bed to my couch and didn’t move for most of the day. I finally convinced myself to go to Biker Chicks at the gym at 5:30. I felt SO much better during the class, though the sickness crept right back in after. So I went to Target to pick up some mittens that were on sale, got a burrito bowl at Chipotle and picked up a few protein bars from Complete Nutrition. Then right back to my couch I went!

I slept like crap again on Friday night (boo) so my 5:30 a.m. wake-up call for work was more unwelcome than normal. Hence the million dollar coffee again …

After work I went home for a little bit before convincing my sister to go to a couple of stores with me plus get a really awful dinner. Apparently my diet went out the window this weekend – woohoo stress.

^^ That was UNREAL by the way.

After a food coma, I went home and played around on Instagram, taking a bunch of screen shots, per usual.

Sunday morning I slept in and then met up with my sister again to go check out a few more things. I got a salad at Noodles & Co.

After lunch, we headed over to a few stores to check some stuff out (didn’t find anything) and then headed over to Target where I bought a bunch of groceries. Oh, and if anyone is looking to buy me something for Christmas … I’ll take these from DSW – size 7 kthanks.

DSW Booties

We also went to Walmart and got a few more ornaments for my tree.

After my sister left, I did some decorating and  filmed a small Black Friday Haul, which you can watch here if you’d like. 🙂

And then there’s today! I bought some Peanut Butter Cup protein powder that was 50% off with Travis’ code today, so that’s pretty exciting because I’m sick of the powder I currently have.

And I took this selfie …

And filmed my November Favorites, which should be up sometime this week! 🙂

That’s my weekend! How was your weekend? Did you get anything in the sales?

I got some bath and body works today too! Candles, spray, lotion, soaps, I love it all! I also bought 10 for $32 aerie underwear, that’s my favorite. Plus my mom did like all of her Christmas shopping today for cyber Monday and got me some vineyard vines stuff (25% off- unheard of) and clothes/pjs from target and kohls. I tried to order some pjs for my mom from target and it took forever! Apparently they had like twice their highest traffic ever! I love those mittens you got btw, I need them!

You got some great deals! I totally didn’t know about the underwear one – that would’ve been GREAT. The mittens are great! They had multiple different colors and patterns, too!

  2. Megan says:

Looks like a good weekend! Other than the Packer game which sounds like it was miserable. 🙁 stupid winter weather! Haha. I did some online shopping this weekend because stores are ridiculously busy! I kind of hate shopping anywhere during this time of the year. I love those booties too! I don’t know if you like Charlotte Russe but I’ve gotten a few pairs of boots there & had good luck with them. They have so many different kinds of booties. Plus they are offering 40% off & free shipping right now!

Oh, that’s cool! I always forget about Charlotte Russe. I worked there for a hot minute in college and hated it (because I hate retail) so I never remember to go in there anymore!

  3. Liz says:

That chocolate lava cake is the BEST! I have tried to find lava cakes even close to as good as Chili’s, but I never have! (Is it sad that I know that dessert so well that I know it’s from there?) I haven’t had it in forever since Chili’s changed their black bean burgers and I no longer love them, but that dessert is still awesome. I hate going to any games while it’s raining. We went to the Braves home opener this year and it was pouring and freezing too. Completely awful. We weren’t even in the rain either, but it kept blowing into the overhang area because it was SO windy!

That’s too funny that you knew where it was from! It was spectacular. And I had a black bean burger there, too, and it definitely wasn’t very good. I will say I had a better lava cake when I was in Ireland, but it was about the third of the size. American portion sizes, for the win! 🙂

Wow you had a busy Thanksgiving weekend! I first have to say I am sorry for your loss on Thanksgiving (Go Bears) but the Brett Favre halftime was pretty cool. How awesome was it to be there for that?

annnnnd now after reading this I could go for some Chipotle….

It was pretty awesome – I’m not a Brett Favre fan, but it still was a cool moment. I just wish there wouldn’t have been so much rain!

I should be sponsored by Chipotle with the amount of advertising I do for them. 😉
