Seriously … I might fall asleep at my desk today. After 10-days off and sleeping in most of those days, a 5 a.m. wake-up call after 5 hours of sleep is not shaking out too well for me this morning. It’s not even 9 a.m. and I’m ready for bed. Just gotta hold out until I get done with work at 10 tonight! 🙂 Woo.
I figured I’d update you all a little bit and start out January with a post (and my ADD comes out CRAZY in this post – it’s all over the place). My birthday month – woohoo! Though it didn’t start off that great for me. After writing my post last week, I came down with a 48-hour stomach bug/flu which was just great. Started off the January weight loss right! 😉 After getting through that, I ended up going to pick up a dress from Apricot Lane with one of the gift cards I got for Christmas. I was obviously styling it beautifully with no makeup, fake uggs and a sports bra. That’s probably the best way to style it, right?
Now to find something to wear it to …
The time of workout selfies is back, by the way. I’m sure you’re very excited. I started my 60-Day Challenge with Brittany Dawn Fitness and while my muscles feel like they might fall off, I’m loving it so far!
God, I miss the days of working out during the day whenever I wanted. This 5 a.m. stuff is not cool. I’m also missing naps, but moving right along … the most exciting part of my week was when I got a care package from my best friend Michelle in Hawaii!
With this workout routine and macro counting, I’m back to making really weird things …
Protein “Ice Cream”
– 1 scoop PEScience Peanut Butter Cup protein powder
– 1/2 cup almond milk
– Shit ton of ice (accuracy is key …)
– Special K Protein cereal
– Mini chocolate chips (because you can have more pieces than regular chocolate chips)
I froze mine for a few extra minutes to make it even more “ice cream”ish
Cauliflower Bowl (AKA use up all my food so it doesn’t go bad)
– 2 servings of cauliflower crumbles
– 1 serving of tuna
– Mixed veggies of choice
– 1 cup spinach
– 1 egg
– 1 laughing cow cheese
I put everything in a frying pan and heated it through for a few minutes – mostly until the spinach wilted and the cheese melted. I also put hot sauce and one serving of yogurt ranch dressing on it. It was SO much volume.
On Sunday I went to the Packer game with my mom and my cousins. I think I was already feeling the crabbiness of having to go back to work because I wasn’t in the greatest of moods PLUS they lost. Silly Packers.
Bet you couldn’t guess we’re family by our cheesy grins.
I decided last minute to take Monday (yesterday) off as well because the Packer game was flexed to the later time and, to be honest, I wanted to extend my vacation one more day before I had to go back to work. 🙁 But I worked out and went to the dermatologist, so I was slightly productive.
And now we’re back to today! I got up at 5 a.m., worked out, went home and got ready. First time in a LONG time I’m wearing actual clothes and makeup and did my hair. Oh, and you’ll be happy to know one of my NY resolutions is to make my bed every day, so my wonderful selfies won’t have a half made bed. 😉
And now I’m going to continue getting through my emails, drink more coffee and go make myself some food in our kitchen. Hope you’re having a great first week!
How do you bounce back from vacation?
