Seriously?! Weekends. Whyyyyy do they go by so quickly? Plus, Wisconsin decided it was time to freeze like a mofo, so that just makes you want to stay in bed even more, am I right?
So since it’s not the weekend anymore (though I did write part of this while at work on Sunday – LOOK AT ME BE PRODUCTIVE aka bored), let’s go back and reminisce about all the fun things I didn’t do. 😉
Friday was a normal 8-4:30 day at my full-time job and then headed home. I had planned on going into the gym later in the evening (it’s still pretty busy right now), but then I got home and decided to head into to Biker Chicks since I haven’t taken spin in so long. I took the hour-long class (super strenuous) and then hit glutes/hamstrings with my Brittany Dawn training schedule and I seriously saw stars at one point. I don’t know what happened! I’m guessing I was depleted, but I’ve never had a barbell on my back with 85# of weight and almost pass out. Plus, OF COURSE, the weight room was filled with the bro-dudes that stare at you the whole time so they saw me almost fall down. They probably just think I had no idea what I was doing (which is slightly true). Thankfully it was my last set, so I went and stretched for a little bit but I was SO dizzy. I’ve been struggling with a new medication I’m on for my acne that is technically used as a blood pressure medication, so I think that on top of pre-workout on top of maybe burning through too many calories in spin made me super light-headed. Not a feeling I want ever again, though. I can’t imagine if I would’ve passed out, what the barbell would’ve done to me!

Once I was done working out and got home safely, I made some food as fast as humanly possible and ate while watching some YouTube. That was about as adventurous as my Friday night got. 🙂
Saturday morning I woke up around 9:30 and hung out at my apartment for awhile. I tried to make protein waffles, which did not turn out so great (too much liquid), but they tasted pretty good! I’m loving the Walden Farms syrups, though I know they’re basically like diet soda for pancakes, so I’ll probably limit it to 1-2 times per week. My sister came over then and we headed out to see if I could put some use to my gift cards + birthday coupons I’ve received.
First we headed to TJ Maxx – no luck. Then we went to HuHot for lunch (sister bought for my birthday – SO NICE!!) and that quickly turned into a glorious cheat meal. No regrets – didn’t even try to track that one. After millions of mg of sodium, we headed over to the mall which was PACKED to go through Apricot Lane (no luck) and Francesca’s (no luck). I’m trying to be careful with my money this month so I don’t have to use a credit card or anything when I’m in Chicago for my birthday with Julie.
After wandering the rest of the mall, we headed out to DSW where I did get some tennis shoes. OF COURSE I whined about the fact that I had to pay $25, but since they were originally $80, knocked down to $50 and then I used my $20 in rewards points + my $5 birthday coupon … I guess $25 isn’t too bad. Especially since I workout 5-6 times per week and my shoes are almost a year old. (See me justifying my purchase – I get such buyer’s remorse when I spend money on myself.)
Once we were finished there, we headed over to the mothership (TARGET) and I only got things on my list – look at me go! It was the weirdest list – toilet paper, muscle milk, sparkling water, contact solution. Oh, and I brought back light bulbs which I was SUPPOSED to exchange, but I forgot the damn new light bulbs. Of course.
We were pretty shopped out after that, plus it was starting to snow/rain, so we headed home. I hadn’t been to the gym yet, so I put some workout clothes on and headed back out into the gross weather. Thankfully no one else wanted to workout at 6 p.m. on a Saturday, so I was basically the only one there. I worked out chest and abs per Brittany’s schedule and then was feelin’ myself apparently because I took some pictures.
After the workout I headed back home into the wonderful sleet that decided to pop up. The rest of the night I meal prepped for Sunday (since I worked 6:30-2) and watched some YouTube. Of course I made the mistake of opening my email from Verizon at 10 p.m. which stressed me out (I was expecting a much LESS bill than what I got) so let’s just say my night of sleep didn’t go so well.
Sunday started out pretty early. My garage door barely opened because it was frozen shut but thankfully it did. My car doors were almost frozen shut, too – emphasis on the almost. I couldn’t get my window down, so I went into Starbucks this morning and apparently one of the guys I went on a date like a year ago works Sunday mornings at Starbucks – so that was awkward 🙂 FUN START. Oh and when I got to work my keyless entry lock is out of battery, but my locks were frozen so I couldn’t lock my car. So as I type this, I’m hoping no one stole my gym bag out of my car. (UPDATE: No one took my stinky gym bag)
I spent the morning on chat with Verizon only for them to tell me that the charges are in fact “correct” because the bill is for 1.5 months for my mom, sister and dad (plus their two tablets), a normal month for me AND apparently the sales rep at the Verizon store lied when they told me we got $300/iPhone we turned in. So when we turned in two, we assumed we’d get $600 – correct assumption? Well, apparently the store rep should have told us we got “up to” $600, so they only gave us $504. I’m sorry, but when you live paycheck-to-paycheck (and my parents are rollin’ in the dough, either), and extra $95 is a big chunk of change to be screwed out of. The rep told me that he’d put in a credit review to the company and to check back in one or two billing cycles to see what came from it. So, basically nothing is going to happen. Fun times. I honestly love Verizon, but this last month since I’ve added my family to my plan has been a nightmare for me. I’ve been to the store/called customer service/instant messaged customer service more in the last month than I have since I became a member on my own plan in 2011. Okay, sorry – rant over.
After I was done with work, I ran a few errands with my sister and then went back to the gym to workout, hoping there were less people there and there were! I got in my workout and then headed home to watch the Packer game and do a quick Facetime with my best friend.
I started not feeling so hot so I went to bed and woke up to this.
I guess winter is finally here. 🙁
