Trader Joe’s Haul

There are two places in this world that I will drive out of my way to get something from – Chipotle and Trader Joe’s.

Chipotle

P.S. if anyone is looking for a last minute birthday gift for me, I want that shirt ^^.

Thankfully Green Bay has a Chipotle (albeit a verrrrrrrrry slow one), but there isn’t a TJs anywhere near so whenever I make a trip to Milwaukee, it involves a mandatory stop!

Trader Joes

Seriously, though. How is that $78 worth of food?! I think their prices went up 🙁

TJ Repeaters
These are the things I buy ALL THE TIME.

  • Arrabiata spaghetti sauce
  • (2) 99% Lean Ground Turkey ($4.99 compared to $6-7 here at Target or the grocery store)
  • (2) Chicken Tikka Masala frozen dinners
  • Masala Simmer Sauce (to make my own when the dinners are gone)
  • Broccoli Florets
  • Pizza Burgers
  • California Veggie Burgers
  • Mixed bag of veggies
  • Jasmine Rice
  • Almond Milk
  • Peanut Butter
  • Eggs
  • (3) Quest Bars
  • Sundried Tomato Chicken Sausage
  • Chocolate Raisins (for my sister – they’ve been staring at me on my counter – she needs to come pick them up!)

New Things

  • Frozen Artichoke Hearts
  • Reduced Guilt Stuffed Shells (not that good – wouldn’t recommend)
  • Cookie & Cocoa Swirl Cookie Butter (OMGTHISISTHEBESTTHINGEVER)

What are some of your go-to items at Trader Joe’s? (or any grocery store)
Why am I the last person on earth to try this cookie butter stuff?!

I’m not a big fan of TJ’s. We have one near my house and I go occasionally to stock up on organic beans and black olives. Oh, and coconut/almond flour from there for sure. Also, their coconut cream is freaking delicious. I also LOVE their plantain chips (they come in a big, long purple bag), You HAVE to check those out. Their peanut butter cups are also super delicious. Other than that though, not a big TJ’s fan. Those are pretty much the only items I ever end up buying there. They don’t have enough food so even if I make a run there, I still have to go to the regular grocery store and Whole Foods is right next to TJ, so I try to hit them up in the same run and then can’t buy anything cold at TJ’s anyway. And that totally looks like my $78 grocery trips! I try to save anywhere but on my food. Just my eggs are like, $8 for 12 cause they’re pasture raised and organic, so it’s ridiculous. And $6 for 1/2 gallon of grassfed milk. And like, $2.39 for the teeniest, tiniest grassfed yogurt (that is delicious and totally worth it, though). I figure when I’m old, all these healthy foods will have evened out with all the unhealthy stuff I consume to keep my healthy overall. So I spend money to eat well and hope it pays off one day.

That’s so true! And honestly, it ends up being cheaper than going out to eat for every meal even though the initial shock is expensive!

We don’t have a Trader Joe’s anywhere near us but my husband’s mom picked up the cookie butter cream cheese one day and oh my gosh it’s so delicious!!

I really like Trader Joes but never really think to shop there! I already have to go to like three different grocery stores to get all of the stuff I normally eat, hah. You keep posting that cookie butter & now I really want to get some!

If I commented twice I’M SO SORRY. I still had this page open for some reason and saw it didn’t post so I wrote it again. WordPress is always playing games with me lol!
