An Early Birthday Treat | Weekend Recap

Andddd we’re back! Happy Monday – wooo.

Instead of focusing on the stresses a Monday morning brings, I’m going to go back and think about my weekend. I, of course, didn’t take pictures of anything important, so there’s going to be a lot of words.

Friday started off at work, per usual. Well, technically I worked out before work and THEN went to work, but you get the point.

Weekend RecapLots of mountain dew to get me through my day.

After work I went home for a little bit before heading out to pick up my Aunt Marilyn and head to Chili’s for dinner with my parents and sister for an early birthday. Since I’ll be out of town on my actual birthday and I work so much during the week, this made the most sense. And we went to Chili’s strictly because I wanted chips and salsa and a lava cake. And that’s what I got. 🙂

After dinner my sister and I went to TJ Maxx to kill some time before we went to see Dirty Grandpa at 10 p.m. I ended up buying some $6 marble coasters and a $7 sports bra, but what I really wanted was this knight.

TJ MaxxOur mascot at the college I work for is a knight, so I really thought we needed this but I didn’t know how my supervisor would feel about me putting a knight on my company credit card so I left it there. We headed over to the movie theater and got some major caffeine to stay awake for the movie. Dirty Grandpa was raunchy and “interesting” – I wouldn’t call it a good movie. BUT Zefron was in it and I’ll watch anything that he’s in … multiple times. <3

Saturday I slept in a bit and then tried to head out to the gym, but went to check my oil first and I broke the tube off that the dipstick is in. Spectacular. My car breaks too much. So I called my cousin, had him walk me through some things and then finally made it to the gym for a super quick workout. I then headed off to work a hockey event for my full-time job and obviously didn’t take any pictures. Good event, though! After that I headed home and sat on my couch – fun Saturday night. 🙂

Saturday Night

Sunday morning started out earlier than I wanted because I had to work at the tennis courts. Thankfully there was only one court from 10-11:30, so I got there at 8:30, got all my stuff done and then sat on the couch and watched HGTV until they were done at 11:30. Simple morning – one good thing about working the tennis courts on the weekend. Plus, I got to see this beauty.

After work I was still super tired, so I headed home, made some lunch and spent a few hours on the couch. I finally got myself up at about 3:30 p.m. and got myself to the gym for another workout.

I stopped at Complete Nutrition afterwards for a few Quest/Oh Yeah products and then to Target for groceries. Then I finallllly was able to go home, eat and hang out the rest of the night – which included laundry, dishes and meal prep.

Oh, and random but I found the perfect hair color that I want soooooo bad.

And that was my weekend! I was up at 5:30 a.m. this morning and headed into the gym. It’s going to be a week of early morning workouts for me this week since I work Tuesday and Thursday night and Wednesday I have to take my car in to be fixed. And then FRIDAY I leave for Chicago for a weekend with Julie!! Wooooohooooo!

How was your weekend?

Linking up with Katie.

I’m so excited for your Chicago weekend! I’ve been wanting to go so bad lately but there’s no way with the snow and with the baby coming so soon! We used up all of Jon’s days off when we went to Lake Tahoe anyway! I love that hair color! I could never do blonde on me, but that would look awesome on you! I also really love that lava cake and haven’t one in SO LONG! It is by far the best lava cake from any restaurant that I’ve ever had! I’m impressed with all your workouts! I feel so lazy lately 🙂

Thanks, Liz!! I’m super excited. Ohhhhh Lake Tahoe. I want to go there so badly! Isn’t it the best lava cake? I could eat one easily by myself, but I shared this one. 😉 I’m super motivated right now because of the Brittany Dawn stuff thankfully. Hopefully it sticks. 🙂

Thanks, Jordyn! If my car issues aren’t too expensive (I get it fixed on Wednesday – eek!) I might just book an appointment. 🙂

Lava cake sounds dangerous but an amazing birthday dessert! I’m pretty sure they closed all of the Chili’s around here too! Ah, that is such a bummer about your car! 🙁 But at least you’re getting it fixed this week before your trip! I’ve been wanting to go to Chicago for awhile now but we just aren’t very good about planning trips, hah. And I love that hair color too, I think it would look great on you!
