Weekend Recap!

Good morning, friends! I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Anyone else feel the same? I mean, it feels like that all the time, so you’d think I’d be used to it by now.

Friday started off with a workout (per usual) and I decided to wear a bit of a sassy outfit that day. I just didn’t want to wear a dress or jeans, so pleather leggings it was – all black with a pop of leopard.

After work I went home and ate, and then headed out to get my hair done at 6:30! (P.S. there’s going to be a lot of pictures of my hair)

Shimmer Salon

It’s not exactly what I wanted (if you remember, this is what I wanted) …

She told me in the salon that it was really pretty, but probably not something we could achieve that night. My hair just had a lot of orangey/warm blonde in it. She put a couple of highlights in it (I don’t really see them, though) and toned the bottom of my hair so it has a grey-ish tone to it. I like it, but I think I still have the other hairstyle stuck in my head, but I appreciate her not frying my hair to try to make me happy. I think the part that’s throwing me off is that my hair looks darker right now due to the grey-ish tone on the ends. She did say that the grey would go away and it’ll probably look a little lighter in a few washes (which for me will be a couple weeks). We’ll see! I DO like it – don’t get me wrong – it’s just not what I had in mind so I’m still getting used to it. I have an appointment to get my hair cut / deep conditioned in early April (BEFORE HAWAII!!) so maybe I’ll switch that appointment to dying it blonder if I’m still feeling this way. I don’t want to say I don’t like it because I do (and loved the stylist!), I’m just still getting used to it, you know? And I don’t LOVE it, so that’s my issue. I always loved my hair after I got it done in Milwaukee, but I just haven’t been able to recreate that up here yet. (I feel like this entire paragraph is me trying to convince myself that I like my hair.) UPDATE: I washed my hair last night and it actually does look a little more blonde rather than grey. 🙂

Here’s a before and after – before is on the right:

Before & After

Both of those are in true light with no filter so, there we go!

She curled my hair really nicely, but of course, it fell out by the next morning. Anyone else feel the same? You get your hair done SO prettily and then you go to bed and no one sees it. HA!

Saturday I worked out and then headed to check in to a hotel for a longgggg but amazing day. 12-hours, to be exact!

I judged at an event, which was super fun!

And re-curled my hair, obviously ^^ Does anyone want a hair tutorial? I feel like I get asked every time I put up a picture on Instagram, but I don’t feel like I do anything special!

Sunday morning I headed back home and hung out on the couch for awhile before peeling myself off it to go to the gym.

My reward was Chipotle. 🙂

And honestly? I just don’t like Chipotle in Green Bay. 🙁 The lettuce was gross and wilted and I didn’t feel well after I ate it for the rest of the night. I don’t know … I loved Chipotle when I lived in Milwaukee, so I don’t know if I’m just sick of it (which seems impossible) or if the Green Bay chain is still so new and just sucks haha.

While not feeling so awesome, I hung out on the couch and “watched” the Super Bowl – meaning I had it on while I watched more interesting things on my iPad.

Super Bowl

And now we’re on to this morning! I got up at 5:30 and went to the gym.

Work OUt

And then I headed to Starbucks before coming into work.

I actually had a woman at the gym tell me today that there’s a HUGE difference in my face with makeup or without, but that it always looks natural with my makeup on. I know she meant it as a compliment, but I felt like she was saying my face doesn’t look so great without the makeup haha. I don’t know – maybe I interpreted her wrong!

And now I’m ready for it to be 4:30 p.m. so I can go home. 🙂

How was your weekend?

Linking up with Katie.

Way to go on the workouts! I’ve been walking, but actual workouts are nonexistent. As for haircuts, I always try to book them in the early afternoon so I can go somewhere fun in the evening and show it off!

Thank you! I’ve really been into it lately. That’s a really good idea! I guess I just don’t want to take off of work if I don’t have to!

  2. Samantha says:

I thought your hair looked amazing this weekend! I loved the color! Thank you again for helping us out – you were a huge asset to our judges panel!

  3. Liz says:

I actually LOVE that grayish tint to your hair! There’s a lady where I get my hair done that has had grayish hair with a purple tint to it for years and I always wish I could do my hair like that! But I look better with darker hair so I’ll never try it out! But I am really loving your new hair, even if you’re still convincing yourself! It looks so good! My husband once told me I look better with makeup and I was like, “You’re not supposed to say that,” and he was like, “Well why do you wear it if you don’t think it makes you look better?” Touche. Hah. But I know I look better with makeup, even though I’ve had people tell me before that they never even knew I was wearing it in the first place (I guess I’m really good at “natural”). I’m not a huge lover of Chipotle. I eat it cause my husband loves it, but eh, it’s not the best

Haha, that’s so true! I’m sure the lady meant it as a compliment, but I just took it personally for some reason. Thanks for the compliments on the hair! I’m liking it a bit more today – I think I’m just so used to lots of blonde!

  4. Megan says:

First off, I love the all black + leopard print outfit! Second, I think your hair looks great! It looks very spring-y (not sure if that was really the look you were going for but it just reminds me of spring, haha) It’s been awhile since I have done any highlights but I think blonde can be a tricky color sometimes? And I completely understand not wanting to fry your hair either! I thought the Super Bowl was kind of boring so YouTube was probably way more interesting!
