Single’s Awareness Weekend

Happy Monday, friends! Valentine’s Day is over – phew.

This is no offense to ANY of you that love V-Day – I’m so happy for you if you do! I have never really been a huge V-Day fan, but this year it just bugged me more than normal. It’s just a full weekend of being reminded that I’m single. YES, YES. I know it’s supposed to be for anything/anyone you love, but let’s be honest here. All the pictures of flowers, candy, dinners together … I mean, it’s obviously more about the relationships. Which is awesome and I’m happy for everyone in a relationship that got pretty things or did fun activities – just makes for a weird day for me. Especially because I actually like being single so I’m not really sure why I was feeling so down yesterday!

Moving on …

Friday started out with a morning workout (as I told you about last week!) and then I had a long day. 8 a.m. – 10:30 p.m. to be exact! We had Senior Wine Tasting here at my job on Friday night, which was an amazing evnet.

Senior Wine Tasting

And then I came home to this …

Stupid cat!

Saturday morning started out earlier than I would’ve liked for a Saturday, but I wanted to get my workout in before I had to work.

Chest, calves and abs. My least favorite workout of the week – mostly because it’s my weakest body parts!

Then I went to work at the tennis courts until noon.

After that, I headed over to HuHot for lunch with my sister (TREAT MEAL!) and then got the Valentine’s Day Molten Chocolate Frappe from Starbucks.

After a TJ Maxx stop (where I got a picture for my office, blue workout pants and something else that I can’t remember what it was …) and then to Target (which is where the above picture was taken).

And then the rest of my Saturday night looked like this 🙂

But I did cook for myself, so that’s good.

Saturday Night

Fun fact – I had one sip of the wine and then dumped it out. Whoops!

Sunday morning started out pretty early since I went to bed early on Saturday night, but it was wonderful to just lay around and not do much all morning.

Sunday Morning

Very productive morning, as you can see …

Lies, I actually did laundry and cleaned my whole place before going to see “How to be Single” with my sister at 1 p.m. 🙂

Valentine's Day

After the movie I went to … can you guess?

I did some back and biceps and then headed home for the night. This morning I got back up at 5:30 and headed back into my favorite place …

Monday Workout

With my new blue pants! That are a size smaller than I normally get – YES! Don’t mind the fake smile. It was 6 a.m. and I was cranky and tired.

How was your weekend? What did you do for Valentine’s Day? I hope it was a wonderful one for you! 🙂

Linking up with Katie.

If it makes you feel any better, the best parts of my weekend weren’t actually romantic at all. Last year Jordan and I had SUCH a romantic, perfect Valentine’s Day, this year he’s been really depressed by work and didn’t put in any effort. I didn’t expect much for Valentine’s Day and luckily we had plans with friends the whole weekend, but if I were counting on roses and jewelry and fancy reservations I would have been 100% disappointed. This year Valentine’s day was more about him (skiing and seeing Deadpool) and the fun parts of the weekend for me were seeing friends and just being together. Did you like How to Be Single? I want to see that with a girlfriend!

That totally makes sense! I really am happy for everyone that had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I think I was just feeling lonely and the holiday just intensifies that feeling, you know? How was Deadpool? It was sold out at the theaters here! I actually liked How to be Single – it was pretty funny and I thought the ending was perfect. 🙂

VDay wasn’t very exciting for us either so don’t feel bad! Our celebration included a date to Qdoba, Costco and Target. We are already an old married couple! Haha. The day is just overrated anyway. I think celebrating an anniversary is way more special. TJ Maxx is killing me right now with all of their home decor stuff! I could do some major damage to my bank account if I let myself. I need some of your weekend workout motivation! I can’t do it, haha. PS your delts are poppin’ in that picture!

Oooooh, thanks girl! 🙂 They’re starting to pop out. Now if only my lower body would catch up haha! Qdoba, Costco and Target – that sounds like the PERFECT date!!

We’re totally hit or miss on Valentine’s Day. Some years I want to celebrate and other years I don’t. This year we didn’t. When Jon left to go help his friend with his truck though I was like, “I CAN’T BELIEVE HE’S LEAVING ME ON VALENTINE’S DAY!” And we were cleaning the house. I was being dramatic/pregnant. The last year I was single, I did a super fancy dinner with a friend who was also single. Although, now I literally have zero single friends left (or my single friends moved away to live adventurous lives, which kind of sounds even better than being married). I suppose if I was still single, I’d have found some though cause it was always depressing being single when all of my friends were in serious relationships. ANYWAY…. I get so sidetracked (/I don’t want to work on my paper!!!!) was that movie good? I didn’t even know where was a movie about being single and I heard somebody else mention it and I feel like I could totally go for a chick flick with my mom. Unless there’s sex in it. Then I don’t want to see it with my mom. And since I just read your response to a comment that said it was good, mostly I just need to know if it’s a mom/daughter appropriate movie. (I know I’m 29 and am allowed to have sex, but that’s still weird.) Also, how was that Starbuck’s drink? I think it already ended anyway but my sister said she wasn’t really a big fan of it. I’m not a fan of Starbuck’s in general because the only coffee I get out is a vanilla latte and theirs aren’t that good. You have been SO GOOD at the gym lately. I haven’t gone in a full week now. I actually wanted to come home to work on my paper for once, and then I did and now I just want to sit on my couch and eat.

It was good! There’s a few make out scenes and some sex scenes, but you never actually see anything. Just lots of kissing. So I guess it depends how close you are to your mom. 😉 Thanks for the compliment on the gym! I’ve been using it as a release and been loving it. It’s officially become a habit, I think!
