Weekend Recap: Surprise! Chicago Birthday Party

I was very quiet about my weekend plans last week because I wasn’t sure if Saige (one of my best friends) would be reading my blog, but SURPRISE PARTY IN CHICAGO!

But before we get to that, let’s talk about Friday. I mentioned on Friday that I was having a rough morning at work (thank you to those that reached out to me in the comments/Instagram/etc.!) so I actually ended up moving everything around.

It was a pretty awful day at work, but it got better and I pushed through. I’m alive!Β After work I headed home to watch some YouTube and pack up for the weekend.

Saturday morning I got up at 6:30 to head to the gym when it opened at 7 a.m. If that doesn’t show dedication, I don’t know what does!

I did my chest, calves and abs workout + 12-minutes of HIIT on the stairmaster before getting ready to head to my friend Rachel’s apartment to head out to Milwaukee to pick up Saige!

Once we got to Milwaukee, we snuck into her house (her husband left a door open for us – we didn’t break in, don’t worry) and scared the crap out of her. πŸ™‚ YAY SURPRISES! Then we scooped her up and took her to Le Reve for lunch in Wauwatosa. I didn’t take any pictures because, well, I forgot and was more interested in talking to Saige. IN the meantime, my sister sent me this picture of Oliver (she was babysitting him) so … you can look at that!

After lunch, we headed down to Chicago to meet up with Saige’s other best friend (Kacy) who I finally got to meet! We stayed at the Palomar Hotel which, again, I didn’t take any pictures. #badblogger#butgoodfriend

After sitting on the bed blabbing for a few hours, we got ready and headed down to the hotel lobby for free wine (hellsyes) before heading out to our dinner reservations at Remington. I did take a picture there!

Worst decision ever. The salad was AMAZING but I ate maybe half of it and there was barely any chicken on it. At this point I had a salad for lunch, half a salad for dinner and three glasses of wine. If you can see the foreshadowing here then you’re very smart …

After dinner we headed to the theater to see If/Then – AMAZING SHOW!

I stole that picture from Rachel’s Snapchat. Honestly, I wish I could’ve downloaded her entire story to show you guys our night because it was HILARIOUS.

At the show I had two vodka tonics. Those five drinks were the most I’ve had since Halloween (which is a story I really need to tell you) so … I cried at the show and two of the girls fell asleep. We were SO CLASSY.

After the show we headed over to a great place called Walgreens. πŸ™‚ There’s a two story Walgreens in Chicago and we took full advantage. Really I just needed a 5-hour energy, but we spent a good half hour in there dancing, finding funny things, making fake commercials. Oh my God. But we got my 5-hour energy and headed back to the hotel so Kacy could change.

After that we headed out to The Apartment bar and … it was SO MUCH FUN. We danced like crazy, drank way too much and met way too many weird guys. We also lost Kacy’s phone, so that wasn’t the greatest. We then headed to another bar but at that point Rachel and I were basically dead so we split up and headed back to the hotel. And that was it for me at 4:30 a.m.

The next morning was a bit rough and we had a long day of travel. I finally got back to Green Bay around 4 p.m., got some Qdoba (first time eating allllll day) and sat on my couch for the night. I was asleep by 8:30 p.m. and I didn’t wake up until almost 9 a.m. today. Much needed – thank God I took the day off of work.

Once I woke up today I went and worked out (back and biceps which I missed yesterday) and sent in my final check in for the 60-Day challenge with Brittany! I’ll do a write-up about that either tomorrow or Wednesday! Oh, and I put up this post on Instagram. πŸ™‚

I spent some time at Starbucks sending in my challenge info and doing a few random things. Then I went to Complete Nutrition for a new pre-workout and to Qdoba again for lunch. Now I’m home writing this and catching up on some work!

    What a fun weekend! Sounds like it was much needed after your day on Friday! I am amazed that you made it to 4:30am too after working out at 7am!! I would have needed like 3 of those 5 hour energy things to get through the night.

    What a great wknd you had–sounds like it was just what you needed at the end of a trying week:) I so want to go to Chicago some wknd once it’s warmer—-I haven’t been there since I was in high school, a very long time ago….lame I know:) Wow, I’m really impressed with your transformation and determination. I need to find my inner fit girl……..seriously! Have a good week!!

      Definitely much needed! It was so fun. I’ve actually been really lucky and the two times I’ve been in Chicago this winter, it’s been abnormally warm. Thanks, Amy!
