Another winter weekend … in April

And just like that, it’s Monday again!

In one of my previous blogs, I wrote about how I was going to be working 23-days in a row and after this last week, that’s just not going to happen – haha! I was so exhausted on Wednesday that I ended up taking a rest day on Thursday from the gym. I was so tired (mentally and physically) that my body wasn’t “healing” itself and all of my muscles were tight. Instead of pushing past it, I took a day off and I think it was for the best! However, I’m still not feeling so hot and my entire office is sick with a cold (plus everyone working out at the gym …) and I do NOT want to get sick anytime near going to Hawaii, so I’m taking Tuesday off. I’m sure I’ll still fill it with stuff to do, but WEEEEE DAY OFF!

Anyways, this post is supposed to be me talking about my weekend. I wrote about Friday morning in my last post, but the rest of the day was filled with snow – I kid you not. It looked like a blizzard outside! Not okay, Wisco. Not okay. So once I got home, my sister and I headed out for Mexican food at like 5 p.m. because 1) I was excited and 2) if you get up at 5 a.m., you’re ready to eat dinner at grandma time. 🙂

We went to El Presidente in De Pere and I got a small strawberry margarita as we demolished two baskets of chips and salsa. My sister got a quesadilla and I got a fajita chicken salad, which sounds healthy but it most definitely is not. There’s a bit too much cheese and sour cream on it for it to be healthy.

El Presidente

After dinner, we headed to the dollar store to get cheap candy for the movie (only way to do it) and then went to the updated theater by the mall in Green Bay and it was awesome! I’ve been going to that theater since I was a kid and it’s always been this musty, ugly old place, so the updates are much appreciated. We sat in one of their new rooms that has big comfy recliners – I could’ve fallen asleep. We watched “The Boss” which was pretty funny. Definitely not the best movie I’ve ever seen, but entertaining nonetheless. And then I went to bed early because again – I’m a grandma.

Saturday I slept in a bit (though my internal alarm clock woke me up at 5 a.m., 6:30 a.m. and 7) until 8:30 and then headed into the gym. I really took my time with the workout (because I had the time) and did my shoulders, back and HIIT workout. 10-minutes of incline walk to warm-up, weight room time and then 20-minutes of HIIT on the stairs. Ouch.

After my workout, I went home and hung out for awhile on the couch, made my meals for the rest of the day and then headed BACK to the gym to close the front desk. There was a tennis tournament, so it was “busy”, but not with actual members. Just tons of families, college students and general noisiness.

Sunday I had to work (again), but this time I had to open the tennis courts at our other locations. I had to work until 2:30 p.m. and then headed over to get froyo (by myself).

Work

Froyo

I fit that shi* in my macros and there was no way I was going to miss it even though no one wanted to go with me. 🙁

After that, I headed over to the gym to get in my upper body workout. According to my program, yesterday was supposed to be a rest day, but I move my rest days around depending on how I’m feeling, so I ended up doing another upper body workout and my shoulders were KILLING me after working them two days in a row. Whoops.

Workout

I actually ran into a Tone It Up girl that I know at the gym, so that was fun! She was there checking out a class.

After working out, I headed home and tried to relax for a bit … which meant watching HGTV on Netflix while doing the dishes and my laundry. I’m hoping I can get a little more done tomorrow on my day off – I need to find a cover up for my swimming suit and at least one pair of shorts (I hate shorts).

And now it’s Monday! I got up and did lower body this morning and it was an AWFUL workout. I just wasn’t feeling strong at all and was so tired by the end of it. I’m pretty cranky this morning, too. I’m hoping it’s a case of the Mondays. I mean, my coworker was like, “How was your weekend?” and I responded, “I don’t get a weekend, remember? I work two jobs.” hahahahaha whoops.

So, I’m gonna sit here, drink my coffee and try to think happy, positive thoughts! I’ve been having weird dreams lately – they’re either about me moving to Milwaukee, moving to Hawaii or getting back together with my ex boyfriend. Stopppppp it, dreams!

Linking up with Katie.

How was your weekend?
How do you get yourself out of a cranky Monday mood?

I love that workout top you’re wearing in that photo! Where is that from? Also, your arms are looking GREAT! I don’t know how you work so much! I used to work 60ish hours a week every week and wanted to die! I also did them all at a CRAZY busy ER that was super stressful, so it probably didn’t help, but man… I can’t even imagine working that much anymore! I had to slow down and enjoy life some more! But I guess you can do that in Hawaii! Enjoy having a day off! You need it!

It’s actually from one of those second-hand stores. I got it for like, $10 a couple years ago haha! And thanks on the arms compliment. 😉 They definitely show muscle a lot quicker than any other part of my body.

Grandma time… LOLing right now. It seems like I’m always hungry at 5:00 on Fridays so I must be a grandma too, haha. Aww, why do you hate shorts?! I cannot wait to be able to wear them all the time! It’s been pretty cold here but not snowing, thankfully! Good for you for taking tomorrow off & not having to work 23 days in a row. So so so close to Hawaii!

I feel like I’m always hungry at 5 p.m. ALL the time. Probably because I get done with work at 5 and I’m so bored all day that all I think about is what I’m going eat. Shorts and me don’t get along. My thighs and butt are my problem area, so I feel like shorts accentuate that area. But I got a pair of loose ones that should be fine!

Getting out of the cranky feelings changes every time. Sometimes its about doing nothing, sometimes its about getting shit done and feeling good, or distracting myself by meeting up with a friend. So jealous of your fro yo. I have been eating too many chips and with this warm weather (in the 80s this weekend in minneapolis) I’m regretting the winter eating, and dreaming of all the ice-cream.
