YES, I know it’s not summer, but basically once it’s above 40 degrees here, I start calling it summer. I don’t know about you, but
I’m feelin’ 22 – JUST KIDDING I’M 28 when the weather starts getting nice out, I become a whole new person. It’s like a caterpillar to a butterfly, except it’s more of a cranky, overdressed homebody carrying around a space heater into a smiley, bubbly cheerleader stripping off clothes while running through a forest of flowers.
I’ve had a lot of caffeine today, I don’t know where that came from. Moving on …
1// I start working out even more than I was before
This is usually the season where I go HAM on working out, but thankfully I’ve already been in that mindset this year. But just in Wisconsin in general, once the weather gets nice you actually see people out biking, walking, running and exercising. The gym is slower (which is great for me!) but outdoor activities ramp up. We only get 2-3 good months a year, so gotta take full advantage.
2 // I drink more alcohol
I mean, patios. Fruity drinks. Bloody Marys. PATIOS.
3 // I drink more sugary drinks
Basically summer makes me fat.
4 // I wear dresses all.the.time.
I’m a girly girl, through and through, but summer time does something to me and I never want to be in anything in a dress.
5 // I become even more of a sassy spitfire
Is that even possible? Apparently. Just ask any of my friends, coworkers, sister, cute guys, Qdoba employee – all of ’em notice. They’re all like … what is happening to this girl.
6 // I get super romantic and start planning my future wedding
Random, right? I don’t know what it is about summer, but I’m in SUCH a good mood that even the romantic side of me comes out. Probably because if I ever get married, I want to do it in the summer or a location that’s always warm because I’d like to get married outside. But seriously, my Pinterest board has been on fire lately. I MEAN, LOOK AT THIS DRESS.
7 // I start self tanning
I blame Megan for this one. It’s new this year for me, but I feel SO much prettier/healthier/more confident with a bit of a tan. Plus, it hides some of my bruises.
That’s about as tan as I get, but it works.
8 // I’m almost ALWAYS in a good mood
Let’s rejoice – Jessie isn’t being a raging see you next Tuesday anymore! I’m almost always full of energy, smiles and excitement. Granted, I can be like that year-round, but it takes a lot less work in the summer.
Seriously, I took a video of myself yesterday on Snapchat spinning around in my chair at work because I wanted to be outside. (Follow meeeeeee: justjessie23)
9 // I go blonder
Baby steps, but gotta lighten up that hair!
10 // I start wondering why I don’t live somewhere that’s like this year-round
Be still, my beach-loving heart.
