Memorial Day Weekend Recap

I’m so sad the weekend is over. I’m back at it at work today and my morning has been all over the place … and it’s only 8:10 a.m.

On Friday, I only had a half day so I went in for the morning. Obviously over-dressed because I have no idea how to do casual Friday.

Casual Friday

Bad idea. It decided to POUR on Friday and I luckily (grrrrr) had to sit through an unnecessary meeting across campus so my shoes and dress was soaked by the time I got back to the office. The rest of the afternoon I ran some errands, hung out at home and then ended up going to a Biker Chicks spin class at 5:30 because I was bored. Best decision I made! The music was awesome and I had so much fun. Unfortunately I was in a cranky mood and the class didn’t help much, BUT it was fun while I was there!

I slept in a tiny bit on Saturday and then headed into the gym.

Workout Clothes I seriously wandered around the gym for almost two hours, talking to people and having a fun workout. After my workout, I went home and took a nap for a little while before getting up and going for a walk. Fox River Trail

I was in a weird mood still on Saturday, plus I was bored out of my mind, so it was fun to take a long walk and sort through my own thoughts. The weather was GORGEOUS finally, so I was loving it. I don’t remember what else I did that night besides watch Harry Potter so ………

Sunday I woke up around 9 and met my friend Brooke and her two kids for brunch. After brunch, we spent the day shopping for Brooke’s trip. I kept the kids entertained …

You’re welcome, Brooke, for introducing them to snapchat filters. 😉

Once I got home, my sister and I headed out to TJ Maxx just to get out of the house. I tried on this pretty red dress but it wasn’t very flattering to my lower body – short people problems.

Red Dress

I ended up not buying anything and then we went home. I pretty much stayed in for the night and ate crappy food. Story of my life lately!

Monday, yay! Happy Memorial Day to all those who served, are currently serving or gave their lives for our freedom. I made sure to think about being grateful all day yesterday.

I woke up around 8:30 and got ready to meet my lovvvvvvvve Saige! She was in town for the day and was going to spend it with me! So excited.

I love that romper, but let me tell you. That baby wants to either show a LOT of boob or a LOT of butt. I was pulling it up and down all day, ha!

I met her at Kavarna in downtown Green Bay for a coffee (we got a mocha shake which was pretty much the best thing ever). After that we headed to go shopping a bit and then lunch. It was so nice to spend the day with her. I miss her so much! We always have great conversation and forget to take a picture … which happened again.

After meeting with Saige, Jenny and I went and saw Alice in Wonderland (I love Johnny Depp) and then to Target. We got home, watched another Harry Potter and then went to bed. The weekend went by so quickly!

How was your weekend?

  1. Amy says:

Your wknd sounded good:) We had a good one……with a few really nice walks around our neighborhood and a cute smaller lake. Plenty of deck time, I got over to Barnes & Noble-yay! It’d been a little while since I’d been there to pick up a book or two…..and I picked up You are a Badass, love it! Even got extra sleep in:)

    • Jessie says:

Oooh, I’m jealous of the deck time! And I’m glad you’re loving You are a Badass! I need to finish it – I might write a review on it!

  2. Amy says:

Ha, we live in a quad-townhome situation, but never hear our closest neighbors, which is great:) the deck faces west too, so all day sun and sunset watching! I even meditated briefly last eve, so nice, inspired by the book, it’s very insightful:) I need to make some stuff happen, re; my career!

    • Jessie says:

I really liked it! Apparently it isn’t doing as well as they had hoped, but I’m so obsessed with Johnny Depp that I loved it. Thanks, lady!!

  3. Elizabeth says:

Sounds like an awesome and relaxing weekend! We went to see the new Alice too and LOVED it–what was your take on it? Also, I’m loving your outfits!

    • Jessie says:

I loved it, too! I’m surprised it’s not doing super well in the box office! I love Johnny Depp SO much, though. Thank you!!

  4. Shelbee on the Edge says:

I love that turquoise dress with the nude flats! So adorable. And I have to admit I am jealous that you have so much boredom in your life! Enjoy it while you have it! These days with two little ones, I have no time for myself or for boredom and I actually found myself yearning for some sweet ennui while I was reading this post!

    • Jessie says:

Thanks! They’re actually nude heels – this girl is too short for flats. 😉 ha! And that’s true – no children running through my life quite yet!

  5. Megan says:

Yay for good weather finally! Long walks + nice weather & sunshine are definitely a good way to do some thinking/relaxing. Those pants are so fun too! And nothing wrong with wearing a dress for casual Friday, haha. Dresses & skirts are WAY more comfortable than jeans anyway! I have yet to see one of those “real” Alice in Wonderland movies too but I really like Johnny Depp!

    • Jessie says:

I agree! I’m wearing jeans today and I’m like, what am I DOING?! I recommend the Alice in Wonderland movies – JD makes them the BEST.

    • Jessie says:

It’s the besssssst. I’ve watched the whole series throughout the week, haha! Just have the last one to go tonight! I rewatch them every couple of months because my obsession is REAL.
