A Beautiful Weekend Recap

Happy Monday, friends! Let’s take this day on in a positive light, right? I have a pretty cool opportunity this afternoon, so I’m in a good mood this morning for sure (even though it’s cold and rainy …)

Friday started off pretty groggily for me because I had an event the night before (I’m going to write about that this week!) and didn’t get home until almost midnight. I got up, got ready (which meant braiding my hair because I did NOT have time for anything else) and got in to work only a little bit late. I’ll be honest, though. I didn’t get ANYTHING accomplished during my half-day, but thankfully it seemed like the whole office was in a chatty mood so I didn’t feel too bad. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Weekend Recap

Once it hit noon, I headed out the door to get lunch at Vintage Cantina (probably my favorite restaurant in Green Bay right now). We got nachos, margaritas and tacos and it was SO much fun. She had to go and meet her boyfriend though, so I headed back home before heading to the gym.

Weekend Recap

Well, I ended up getting there and getting on the treadmill before Dave called me. And then we Facetimed after the call. So I was at the gym for a good hour on the phone – whoops.

After chatting with him, I got in a workout but it wasn’t a very good one. I just wasn’t into it! My friend flaked on me for dinner, so my sister and I headed over to Buffalo Wild Wings for a super non-healthy dinner plus Coldstone – what is wrong with me?! I ended up not being able to eat much of it and by the time we got home there were SUPER bad thunderstorms, so we stayed in for the rest of the night. I got a headache (of course) because of all of the pressure changes, so I just went to bed a little early. Fun day, though!

Saturday I woke up pretty early and I was in SUCH a good mood – it was supposed to be in the 90s! OMG YAY! I went to the gym around 8:30 a.m. and got in a tough lower body workout (though I’m not sore from it so maybe it wasn’t as tough as I thought … grr) and then stood at the front desk and chatted with all my friends for (no lie) an HOUR AND A HALF. I was at the gym for three hours. Ha! So, I missed the farmers market.

I ended up grabbing Qdoba because I was starving (what else is new) and headed home to eat it. After that, my sister still wasn’t done with work so I took a shower and got a little “too” ready. I don’t know about you, but sometimes if I’m super bored I’ll play around with my makeup and then I realized I was a tad bit overdone for going to a matinee movie with Jenny.

Weekend Recap

Oh well. We went and saw Now You See Me 2 and I lovvvvved it just as much as the first movie (though I wasn’t very happy with Harry Potter’s character – and no, I won’t stop calling him Harry Potter).

Weekend Recap

After the movie, my sister and I headed over to Hagemeister Park because it’s the only good patio on the water in the city (in my snotty opinion). I had a salad and a drink and tried not to get too sunburned. My sister hated it because she was in a t-shirt and long pants, but I’m all about that warm weather life, even if I am super sweaty and gross. We don’t get much of it here!

Weekend Recap

My sister wasn’t really into doing anything else and I was, so I tried to see if any of my friends wanted to do anything but no luck. Come ON, people! Be social! (Hello, extrovert problems amiright?) So instead I headed to Target by myself to pick up a few things and then got myself froyo before parking myself in a lot and talking with Dave for a bit.

Sunday came earlier than normal, though I was pretty awake for a 6 a.m. Sunday wake-up call. I headed into work at the gym from 6:30-3.

Weekend Recap

I spent the day talking with members and studying my NASM materials (did I tell you I’m studying to get my personal training certificate – SURPRISE!)

Weekend Recap

Once I was done with work, I went over to a friend’s new place to see it. He has SUCH a fun place right on the water in Green Bay, but I have location commitment issues, so I’m not ready to sign a new lease in a city I’m not sure I want to stay in. But I’m definitely jealous of him!

After that I headed home, changed my clothes and went out for a walk and some Qdoba.

Weekend Recap

The rest of the evening I spent meal prepping, cleaning, doing laundry and Facetiming, and then I went to bed around midnight!

Weekend Recap

I definitely had an overeating issue this weekend, so I’m trying to get back into the swing of things today. I didn’t make it to the gym this morning, but I’ll be going tonight sometime after work. But now we’re on to Monday – wish me luck!

Wasn’t the weather great this weekend?! It feels like summer is finally here! I’m jealous of all the movies that you go to! I think I go to a movie maybe once a year, haha. I’m interested to hear more about your NASM venture & whatever it is you are doing this afternoon! ๐Ÿ™‚

YES it was soooo great! Today it’s cold again, though. >:( I love going to movies, ha! They’re fun, but kinda expensive. Maybe I’ll write a post about why I decided to start doing NASM! As for this afternoon, I had a phone interview over lunch. Keep your fingers crossed! And OMG YOU’RE MARRIED NOW!!!! <3

It was supposed to pour here on Saturday, but then it didn’t and I can’t tell you how happy that made me. We have nice weather predicted most of the week, so I’m pretty pumped! And I’m with you – he’ll always be Harry Potter. I’d feel bad about it but then I think about how much $$$$ he made, and it goes away.

    • Jessie says:

Yes, exactly! He’ll always be Harry Potter – I just can’t see him in any other way. Especially a villain. Plus, HOLY CRAP he’s suppppper short. They definitely don’t depict that in HP. ๐Ÿ™‚

It was SO HOT in Atlanta this weekend! I haaaate it. I can do 80s but once it gets into the 90s, it’s miserable. And it was also really humid here this weekend! I’m impressed with all your gym time! Back in my single days, I always wanted to hang out with people and everybody was always busy or staying in. But now I’m totally that person. You should definitely write about the NASM stuff. I’ve thought about quitting nursing and starting personal training, but I dated a personal trainer who worked in a regular gym and it didn’t really seem all that great. I think if I was really hardcore, I’d open a CrossFit gym. But I think those days are behind me now! Sounds like you had a good weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Haha, I hear you! The humidity is the worst. I think for me, we get very little time where it’s actually warm out, so I try realllllly hard to enjoy the hot weather, even when it’s like SUPER hot. I don’t know that I want to do personal training in a gym (unless it’s a small place) but I’ve really been interested in starting my own nutritional/personal training coaching. I’d like to coach IIFYM (like I do for my diet) but I also want to do PT plans. There are SO many coached online that don’t have any certification/experience, and I personally would prefer if I had a cert. before offering advice, you know?

talking on the phone a lot aren’t we?! hehe, good for you! Good for you for studying nasm! I had those thoughts at one point, but now I’m in school and another book sounds like torture!

Yeah ๐Ÿ™‚ Thankfully. I hate texting (lies, I love texting but not for a true conversation) so the phone calls and FaceTime make it better. Though it’s still a pretty unrealistic situation for right now, but you never know, right? I’m excited for the NASM stuff, but not the studying haha! I wish osmosis was true and I could just hold the book and suddenly know everything.
