I’m a day late on my weekend recap, but I took yesterday off of my full-time job and still somehow filled the day with a bunch of stuff to do! Anyone else do that? Geez!
So Friday was a half day at work thankfully. I had every intention of going to the gym once I was done at noon. Instead I ran a bunch of errands before leaving for Madison at 2 p.m.
It was HOT. I did vlog the whole weekend, so that’ll be on the blog tomorrow if you’re interested in that!
I met Lindsay in downtown Madison where we went to Paisan’s to get some sangria and sit on the patio. It was BEAUTIFUL, but sooooo hot. We were nice and sticky gross when we left.
After some sangria and girl chats (we’re both dealing with long distance “situations”, so it was nice to have some of her perspective) we headed to Lucille for dinner. Of course, I took pictures for Snapchat, but didn’t for the blog. Whoopsie. Again, you should just follow me on there … (justjessie23)
We had a couple of drinks and shared some nachos, a small pizza and a cookie cake. YUM! Oh, and it’s communal seating so we were sitting next to these men that were out for Father’s Day. The man sitting next to me was professing his love to me and kept saying “If only I was 70 years younger!” – yep, he was 90. Best. Pickup. Line. Ever. 🙂
After Lucille, we went back to Lindsay’s place to take the pups out and freshen up before we headed back downtown. Lindsay was running on two hours of sleep, so she was pretty sleepy but we went to Madison’s for a drink. It was interesting going there because I have an event there every year, but I don’t go to that location. It was kind of boring (to be honest) so we just wandered around.
We ended up trying out a few other places but they all had a weird vibe, so we actually went to Lucille again to get the drinks we had earlier in the night. I switched to vodka tonic which was a bad idea – it literally tasted like straight vodka. Blech.
Once back at Lindsay’s, she passed out while I facetimed a tiny bit and then I headed to bed.
We slept in on Saturday, played with the pups and then ended up going to Bennett’s Smut & Eggs for breakfast. Yes, breakfast on a Styrofoam plate with multiple forms of porn playing on all the tvs. SO FUN. I figured that wasn’t a picture for this blog, so here’s a picture of Winston.
After breakfast, we watched (and cried to) Pitch Perfect and slowly got ready. After another pup walk (which you know I was ALL about), we headed to Wollersheim Winery for a wine tour!
I was supposed to go back to Green Bay that night, but ended up deciding to stay. I was having too much fun to go back to GB to sit on the couch by myself! So we headed to another restaurant (I don’t remember what it was called) to get a few more fruity drinks, sit on a patio and … poutine?
After that we headed back to downtown Madison and bounced between a few bars. We had some nachos later in the night because we didn’t really eat anything besides the poutine and a lot of alcohol haha! We ended the night meeting up with some of Lindsay’s friends and going dancing. So much fun. Unfortunately I didn’t get to bed until 4:30 a.m. ish, so the 7 a.m. wake-up call was NOT cool.
I drove the 2.5 hours back to Green Bay somehow staying awake (thank goodness for McDonald’s large coke zero), took a quick shower/changed and then headed BACK out for another hour drive up north with my sister to have lunch with my dad for Father’s Day. Whew. Oh, and BAILEY!
After a few hours up north, Jenny and I headed back to Green Bay. I was so tired at this point that I immediately took an 1.5 hour nap when I got home. I only allowed myself that much so I’d still sleep that night. Jenny and I went and got dinner and chilled the rest of the night.
About halfway through the day on Sunday, I decided I was going to take a day off on Monday. I tend to kind of hold on to my days for summer because I have plenty of days where I’d much rather be at home than at work.
Monday I slept in until my friend texted me (grrrr lol!) at 8:30 so I decided to get up. I got ready and went to the gym …
Yesterday was a very motivating day for me. My goal is to have a life that I control a bit more in the next year. If I could work for myself at some point, that would be ideal. Or at least be able to work a part-time job plus my own thing. I feel so much more inspired!
After my workout, I headed home to eat quick and shower before heading to Starbucks to study for my NASM CPT exam. I’m a little behind on my schedule with that, so I went through the hardest chapter so far.
Once I finished up there, I headed to Victoria’s Secret for the semi-annual sale (and bought only two things – woo!) and then once back home, got changed and headed out for an hour walk down by the water.
After my walk, I headed to Target to pick up some groceries and a pair of black heels (random, yes). I spent the rest of the night watching The Bachelorette, meal prepping for the week and packing up a bunch of bags for today.
This morning started out early with a 6 a.m. workout – but at least I have my new VS bra!
And now I’m at work! I’m here until 4:30 (I’m going to try to take a walk at lunch) and then work at the tennis courts from 5-10. Longgggg day! Missing my day yesterday for sure.
How was your weekend?
Did any of you hit up the semi annual sale?
