My Last Day

Happy Friday, friends! What are you up to this weekend? Let me know in the comments! I have a pretty chill weekend planned – taking Cora to the vet (she’s limping – boo!) and Farmers Market for Ben on Sunday.

However, I’d like to talk about today. TODAY is my last day at my job and I’ll be moving on to a smaller company in Chicago later this month. I slyly mentioned yesterday in my post that I was leaving my job and I got a few messages, so I figured I’d write about it today!

Denver & Boulder Trip RecapAs a lot of you know, this job wasn’t a great fit for me. I have some amazing colleagues and the benefits at this job were insane, but the stress and environment definitely affected me, specifically with Hashimotos flares. I had two full flares plus small issues in the 1.5 years I was at this job which was just too much. Sometimes jobs just aren’t the best fit, and that’s okay!

I decided to take a week off in between my jobs. I’ve never done this before because:

  1. I’m afraid of missing out on $$
  2. I always “feel bad” making my next company wait

However, I decided this was a necessity. I need a bit of time to try disconnect from my current job, let go of any anxiety or pent up frustrations and truly start my new job with a clean slate. Plus, I’m hoping to use the week as a decompress and staycation week – I have a few fun things planned, but stay tuned to my Instagram for more!

My next job will be very similar to my current job as far as career path goes (still in social media and community) but the hours a bit more manageable and my team is much smaller. I’m excited for the opportunity and I also am very grateful for the work/life balance so I can continue building my own business!

Hope y’all have a great weekend!
