Amiright or amiright?
So anyways, that’s my excuse for you getting a weekend recap/Nashville recap on Wednesday. 😉
Let’s go back to last Thursday, shall we?
On Thursday, I ended up getting stuck at work about a half hour late because some stuff blew up on Facebook. I got to the gym around 5:15 and then got a call from my boss and then got in my workout. By the time I got home, I was pooped, but I self tanned and packed up my stuff for Nashville.
Friday was here before we knew it! We were up pretty early and made it to pick up Ben’s friend Adam to take along for the ride. I’ll spare you the details of the ride – it was 8+ hours in the car so… lots of snacks, talking and music.
We made it to Nashville around 7ish and got into our cute Air BnB.
And that’s literally the only picture I took because I took a bunch of video for Snapchat & Instagram. If you’ve followed me for awhile, I’m pretty famous (LIES) for doing “Hotel Tours” from my traveling event planning days, so this time I did an Air BnB tour. Hopefully you saw it, because it was the cutest Air BnB ever!
After messing around the house a bit, we took off to meet up with the rest of the friends (we were staying with a total of 5 other people) at The Pharmacy for dinner. Of course, no photos, because I was not feeling well at all, but did manage to get half a burger down. Super good, just not feeling well! Since we went to Nashville for a wedding, we met up with the rest of the people in town at a bar for a quick drink before heading back to the house.
Saturday we all slept in a tiny bit before four of us headed out to Sky Blue Cafe for brunch. There was a 45 min-1 hr wait, but we decided to risk it. 1.5 hours later we finally got a seat … but it was worth it!
I got the Lo’s Bowl (minus the cheese) which was potatoes, peppers, tomato, onion, spinach and egg. Topped it with hot sauce and it was SO good.
The table shared this beauty. It was Stuffed French Toast PB&J Pancakes. What?
Basically it was a pancake –> jam/PB –> French toast –> jam/PB –> pancake, etc.
After brunch, Ben and I headed to the Grand Ole Opry to meet up with my friend Angela who lives in Nashville. She let us go through a quick tour, then we chatted with her on some of the best places to go while there. So great to see her!
We headed home after that and got ready for the wedding.
We clean up pretty well. 🙂
The wedding was literally a block away at the East Ivy Mansion and it was beautiful. Instead of describing it, here’s a bunch of pictures of the fun we had! And literally my favorite photo of ALL time …
Dinner was Southern BBQ and I had one sangria-type drink – it helps that both Ben and I aren’t huge drinkers, so we both were fine cutting out the alcohol for the night. We stayed and hung out with everyone, but ended up leaving around 10:30 pm to get back home because we were super exhausted from the sun and crazy day.
On Sunday we all slept in a bit, but Ben and I headed out for brunch at Butcher and Bee. I got Avocado Crunchy Rice and it was AMAZING.
We then headed out (into the rain, I might add) to The Soda Parlor for a sweet treat.
After our brunch, we headed back to the house and laid around for a bit (no one else was home). Once the lazy time was up (and the rain stopped), we headed to Centennial Park to see the Parthenon.
On our way back, we got a text from the rest of the group that they were hanging out at a bar not too far from us, so we stopped by to hang out with them before heading to dinner at Martin’s BBQ. My food doesn’t look super appetizing, but trust me – it was amazing. I had brisket tacos, french friends and beans and OMGYUM.
We headed to Broadway to get in some live music to top off our night.
Monday we woke up pretty early, went to breakfast at the Blue Sky Cafe again and then headed out around 10. We got back into the city around 7:30 and then Ben and I postmated some Portillos and called it a night.
That was our weekend! Have you ever been to Nashville? What did you think?
