Weekend Recap: A Crappy Attitude

I like to think of myself as a positive person, but in attempts to always keep this website truthful, the last few days have been surrounded with self-doubt and just an all-over crappy attitude about some things. Sometimes that happens and I’m just trying to move past it!

So working downtown on Thursdays + working from home on Fridays has been a GODSEND. Thursday I took a Lyft to work because it was pretty cold, but I walked home that night. Threw in some headphones and listened to “You Are a Badass” (<— If you read my March goals, then YES I FINALLY DOWNLOADED AUDIBLE).

Chicago, Illinois

Friday I woke up at Ben’s apartment at about 7:50, stumbled out into the living room and started working at 8. He was already at work with his clients, so I had the morning to myself at his place to get some laundry done while working (since my w/d at my apartment STILL hasn’t been installed)!

I took my lunch around 12:30 and headed to the gym for Ben to train me. It was an upper body day, which I haven’t done with him yet. Of course, he made me bump up my weight in almost everything so I was definitely feeling it. The rest of the afternoon I worked from Ben’s couch while he finished some work as well.

Working from home

We shut down right at 5 and headed down the road to eat at Sushi X. If you follow me on Snapchat (JustJessie23) or Instagram stories, you would’ve seen the epic treat meal that went down, but here’s a little preview …

Sushi X - Chicago

SO GOOD. Plus, our server was awesome so that makes the experience even better. But yes, I’ve found a man that will go to eat at Grandma time with me. ๐Ÿ™‚

After sushi, Ben wanted to take me to frozen yogurt because I’ve been talking about it for EVER. We walked about a mile and he got ice cream at Jeni’s, which was right next door to Red Mango. I took my frozen yogurt to-go because my stomach was feeling pretty angry after shoving 2.5 rolls of sushi down my throat an hour earlier. Don’t worry, I ate it later.

We walked back to Ben’s apartment and both fell asleep watching Minions at like, 11 p.m. #OldPeopleStatus #TheBest

Saturday morning Ben had to train, so he went in and I sat around on his couch catching up on YouTube videos. I noticed myself picking my body apartย more than normal (I was still bloated from the night before) and I got this “you’re not going to make it” mindset stuck in my head. Does this happen to anyone else? I figured a nice, hard workout at the gym would make it better!

It didn’t.

In fact, Ben spent a good chunk of the workout trying to talk me out of crying out of frustration. I feel like I’m just starting to get strong and my back starts killing me and I have to cut down my weight. PLUS, you trying wearing spandex around OTHER beautiful women wearing Lululemon when you’re already in a bad mood about how you look. Just wasn’t a good workout for me!

(P.S. I’m writing most of this blog post on Sunday afternoon and my computer has shut down NO LESS than three times so far due to who-knows-what … so this weekend is just not loving me).

After the workout, Ben and I headed back to his place, ate and watchedย Human Planet for a few hours. He made me dinner (chicken and pasta – woooooo!), then we started watching more Netflix and I fell asleep on the couch before he woke me up to move to bed. Such a sleepy weekend – crappy attitudes make me tired!

Sunday Ben got up to meet some potential clients and I laid around in bed for awhile before getting up to clean up his place for him a bit. I figure if he’s feeding me and basically letting me stay there every hour of the day this weekend, the least I can do is make his bed and clean up his kitchen!

We moved over to Starbucks around 1 p.m. to get some work done. I’ve been working on this blog for almost two hours because the computer I’m working on keeps shutting down and losing everything I’ve done. (Speaking of that, time to save …)

Starbucks Weekend

The rest of the afternoon we spent watching more Human Planetย (ADDICTING) until we transferred over to my apartment while Ben worked and I meal prepped some stuff . Nothing crazy!

How was your weekend?

Weekend Recap: A Very Potter Birthday

Birthdays and weekends are the best, aren’t they?!

So we’ll start with Thursday, only because I feel like that’s when my “weekend”ย began last week. On Thursday my company laid off about 130 people in corporate. I had been hearing whisperings of it for awhile, but we weren’t sure what was happening. Thankfully I was not one of those cut at this time, but it’s definitely not something I want to go through again. One really great thing about Thursday though is that I got to work downtown AND I got approved to work from home on Fridays. Three-day commutes are NOTHING in comparison to five!

Friday I was able to sleep in a bit and then plopped myself on the couch to work in the morning. I worked until about 12:30 before I moved myself over to Starbucks. As much as I want to work-from-home entirely someday, I still need some human interaction so SB it was! My favorite person met me over there around 3.

Starbucks Date

Any guesses what the guy in the background of that photo is doing??

We worked a little past 5 and then headed out for an early date night. Ben and I are both trying to save money, but he mentioned chips and salsa and I’m easily swayed from saving. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Flo Chicago

Apologies for the poor lighting + Snapchat (JustJessie23 #shamelessplug) pics, but the lighting was badddddd.

We went to a place called Flo in West Town. It’s technically a New Mexican restaurant. My chips/salsa and margarita were spectacular and Ben loved his food. I didn’t love my main dish, but I had gorged myself with so many chips that I wasn’t into a heavy meal. Definitely would go back!

Flo Chicago

We stopped at a little wine bar on our way home for a glass of wine … It was a fun place, but our server was kinda cranky. I did not like my wine – apparently I was in a cranky mood toward food/drink on Friday!

Wine Date Night

Saturday morning I got up with Ben and headed to the Starbucks by his work while he trained his clients. I spent the entire morning basically watching Gary V motivational videos, trying to figure out how to change WordPress themes (any advice on this? Do I need to back up all the things first?) and spying on dogs.

Starbucks West Loop

Ben met me for another hour of work before we could go back to workout. I, of course, have no photos of our workout. WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN?

After our workout, we both went back to our own apartments to get ready for a quick trip to Milwaukee for Saige’s birthday! She had THE BEST Harry Potter cake.

Harry Potter Birthday Cake

The night was so much fun. There were about 15 of us there and we had a fun game night. Ben and I ended up driving back to Chicago late because we had plans on Sunday plus were boring/old and were falling asleep by 11!

Sunday we slept in a bit since we didn’t get in bed until 2 a.m. the night before, then I got ready for brunch with Marette!

Only brunch with @jessiedeschane could pull me back out of hibernation!๐Ÿ‘ฏ๐Ÿ‘ฏโค

We went to this awesome place called Tuco & Blondie, which I loved! Apparently I was in a Mexican food mood this weekend.

Always have such a great time catching up with her!

After brunch, Ben, his sister and I all headed out to the suburbs with dinner/hanging out with his family, which is always a nice time. We got back to the city around 10 and bummed around on the couch for the rest of the night before calling it quits.

P.S if you read my post on Friday, the lie was #1. Tricked you! I’m not actually from Green Bay, though I was living there for 2.5 years before I moved this January. ๐Ÿ™‚

Weekend Recap: Sickness + Starbucks

Good morning, friends! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. It was 64 in Chicago all weekend and I can’t even contain my excitement, even though I wasn’t able to take advantage of much of it.

I drove out to work on Friday pretty early to get some stuff done for work. I had a small lull around 10:30 so I headed over to the gym to get in my upper body + HIIT workout.

Friday Workout

I got in a few more hours of work before leaving around 12:30 to miss traffic. I got into Chicago around 1:15 and headed straight to Starbucks to continue working.

Starbucks work

Around 3, Ben showed up to work the rest of the afternoon with me. ๐Ÿ™‚ We left a little after 5 and headed back to his place to hang out with Teressa.

I was in an amazing mood all day on Friday up until we left Starbucks. I was so hungry because I was trying to “save as many calories as possible” for dinner that night because I knew we were going out. Such a stupid idea. I was so tired, so cranky with Ben and struggled on and off all night with my mood. Grrrr.

Friday Night Fun

Saturday morning Ben woke up to go train around 5 a.m., but he was feeling absolutely awful. He ended up canceling his sessions (which he never does) and went back to bed. We didn’t get up until almost 11, which was crazy. We didn’t get to lift together like we usually do which bummed me out, but it was nice to sit around all day and not do anything. Granted, the weather was AMAZING and we holed ourselves up inside on the couch. We finished Stranger Things (SO GOOD), then watched some Parks & Rec and Dexter for the rest of the night. I wish Ben would’ve been feeling better, but I didn’t mind getting to cuddle up with him all day (and force him to look at funny memes). ๐Ÿ™‚

Target Meme

Sunday we slept in a little bit (only until 9 this time) and then ate some breakfast. I went back to my apartment while Ben went to lunch with his family. I had so many dishes to get through, so once I got through cleaning I took my migraine pill (booooo allergy headaches) which made me pass out for a bit.

Later in the afternoon/early evening, Ben and I headed back to Starbucks to get some work done. I had all intentions of figuring out a new theme for my blog this weekend, but that didn’t happen. I got as much done as possible on Sunday and just chalked it up to a relaxing weekend – I don’t really have those very often!

The rest of the night consisted of leftovers from Valentine’s Day (we cooked spaghetti and meatballs together) and Dexter. Pretty chill weekend, but I’m all for that!

Weekend Recap: Moving + A Birthday

Hi, hi, hi – it’s my birthday and I’m sitting in a cubicle. Super happy about it. But at least I have a job, right? Right. #perspective ๐Ÿ˜‰ Let’s talk about the weekend!

On Friday, I worked from home until about 11 a.m. before Ben and I jumped on the train to Milwaukee. My sister was nice enough to drive the two hours to pick us up, then two back to Green Bay. We got a quick dinner at Chili’s (which left something to be desired …) and then back to my apartment in Green Bay to pack everything up. Ben was super patient and helpful all weekend – I honestly couldn’t have done it without him.

Saturday morning we woke up early, took my sister to work, got the U-haul and came back to my apartment just in time for my parents to get there. After a fiasco with the U-haul (it looked like I got one that was way too small but somehow Ben and my dad played the best game of Tetris), we packed up all of my things and took off for lunch. We had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants in Green Bay, Vintage Cantina.

Vintage Cantina

Tacos and margaritas it is!ย (okay, I’m the only one that drank but #necessary)

Vintage Cantina

I should also mention that Saturday was the first time Ben met my parents. They like him (it’s hard not to like him) and everything went smoothly. Especially the moving part. Ben has this weird calming effect on me so there were no tears OR panic, which is normally an all day fiasco with me on a moving day.

After lunch, we headed back to my GB apartment, said good bye to the parents and the cats ๐Ÿ™ and took off in the U-haul. AKA Ben drove the truck, I talked his ear off for 3.5 hours. He didn’t seem to mind … I think he was just happy I wasn’t having a panic attack.

Moving to Chicago

Once we got to Chicago, I went into crazy mode. I was DONE with moving, so I wanted to get the stuff unloaded from the truckย ASAP. Ben, Teressa and I unpacked the thing in less than an hour, then we took the U-haul to a drop-off location. Teressa went out with some friends and Ben and I basically collapsed onto the couch at 6:30. Of course, he put up the sweetest Instagram post which I havvvvve to show you so you all throw up.

I may strongly dislike their football team (sorry @jessiedeschane ๐Ÿ˜ฌ …but not really ๐Ÿ˜) BUT I was able to find some delicious tacos in Green Bay ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒฎ — I helped move the girlfriend from Green Bay to Chicago today. For any of y’all that have moved before, you know that it is one of life’s most stressful experiences ๐Ÿ˜“ However, we made it out alive and didn’t kill each other ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ — This is quite the accomplishment ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ…That said, I am very grateful for finding someone with such a kind heart and someone that values me as much as I value them. This is a reminder โ˜๐ŸผNEVER SETTLE FOR LESS THAN YOU DESERVE. Know your worth and find somebody that realizes it too ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ — Why am I sharing this? ๐Ÿค” Because fitness is a small (while very important) part of a happy life and I want to share these things as well. If you don’t like it, then just don’t read ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I’ll keep posting enough food porn to keep you occupied ๐Ÿ˜‰

A photo posted by Ben Fritz (@benfritzfit) on

Oh that boy …

Sunday we slept in (AKA I did not get out of bed until almost noon) but Ben forced me up with pancakes. We ate, chatted with Teressa and went right back to bed where we sad around for a few hours looking for places to go for dinner. After searching, Ben and I got up to go to my apartment to unpack buttttt then he had the brilliant idea to go and get bloody marys down the street and both Teressa and I were easily swayed.

After bloodies and nachos (MMMMM), Ben and I got all dressed up and went out to Harry Caray’s to try their Restaurant Week specials. SO MUCH FOOD. No pictures because it was a special date for my birthday, but I did take this sneaky one …

I can’t help it. That cake was super handsome. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After dinner, we headed back to his apartment and watched Happy Endings with Teressa. Pretty great Sunday if you ask me.

And now it’s Monday … my 29th birthday! I almost always take my birthday off, but since I only had a half day of vacation (since I just started my job a couple weeks ago) I took it on Friday so we could get a head start on moving. I will be honest – I’m a little sad today. I miss Brooke, my closest friend back in Green Bay. I miss a lot of my friends and let’s be honest, I’d much rather be sitting on the couch than at work BUT at least I’m lucky enough to have a good job, so I’m happy about that.

29th Birthday

Okay, speaking of work, I’m going to be a good employee and see if anyone needs anything from me (my job is still ramping up). Hope you all have a wonderful Monday! Tell me about your weekend in the comments. OR your favorite way to treat yourself for your birthday.ย

Weekend Recap: A loss & two wins

Good morning, friends! I can’t believe it’s Monday already. How is that fair?

After my post on Friday, the rest of the day at work went pretty slowly. No one was here and I was waiting for client feedback, so it was a long afternoon. I got to Ben’s around 6:15 and immediately died on the couch. Okay, over dramatic … but I laid there until I had no other choice than to get up.

Thankfully (??) Ben had a hockey game at 10:20 p.m. BACK out in the suburbs, but I love hockey so it worked out. The game was awesome, plus Ben had an assist AND the game winning goal so I mean … good Friday night.

Saturday I tried to sleep in, but it didn’t work so I got up and talked with Ben’s cousin while he was at work. After she left, I took a little cat nap on the couch before walking over to Starbucks to get a little pick-me-up. I came back to an AMAZING package …

Halo Top

My Ben’s Halo Top package. I like to say it’s mine because #GirlfriendPrivilege

I also got the key code (I don’t have actual keys) to my apartment, so once Ben got home later that afternoon we went and checked it out. Unfortunately, it was not done. The floors weren’t finished, paint wasn’t dry, it was still dirty … etc. I texted my landlord and she was super apologetic. She had thought the contractors would be done by Friday, but it’ll be done soon. Thankfully I wasn’t actually moving in. Either way, I think it’ll be a nice place! If it’s not, I only signed a 7-month lease, so I can survive for 7 months. Pictures next weekend when I move!

Around 7:30, Ben and I headed BACK out to the suburbs to his parents house to babysit his family’s dog. Not mad about it.

We spent the rest of the evening eating Portillos and watching Dexter. You’d know this if you followed me on Snapchat. ๐Ÿ˜‰ (pst … it’s JustJessie23)

Sunday we slept in a *tiny* bit before heading off to Starbucks to get cranky-pants a coffee. Two guesses who that is. (Hint: Ben doesn’t drink caffeine so …) Ben worked for awhile before his friends showed up and we all went and got brunch, then watched the HORRIBLE PACKER GAME THAT I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT.

Packer Game Sadness

After the game, we hung out with his family once they got home before going to his hockey game. They won again in a shoot out, so that was pretty fun!

Watching him play hockey is a double-edged sword. I lovvvvvve it and the aggressiveness of the sport, but Benjamin is “extra aggressive” we’ll say … so he seems to always be in on the action so I’m constantly thinking he’s broken. He came off the ice in one piece, though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After the game, we drove back, showered and off to bed. I woke up at 5:15 this morning and made it to the gym, which I’m pretty proud of.

Gym Meme

Got in some lower body and stretching. I was feeling awesome until about now (it’s not even 10 a.m.) … I feel like I might pass out at my desk. Should be fun!

Weekend Recap: Sleeping Beauty

And just like that, it’s Monday again! Whoaaaa. Last week was SO crazy being my first week at my new job, so my weekend was full of a LOT of sleeping. And lounging. And more sleeping. Mostly sleeping.

Just to update you a bit on the job, last Monday was very overwhelming. I sat in orientation all day and there’s only so much new information my brain can take before it feels like it’s going to explode. By the time I got home that night, I was a pile of tears and emotions.

Tuesday was a bit better because I was with my team most of the day. They’re very relaxed where I work and I’m hardly ever checked on, which was strange all week. I went to a few meetings, but mostly I’ve been working on getting to know my “client” and getting HR stuff done.

That night I went to my first Blackhawks game and OHMYGOSH I’m so hooked. I love hockey, but I’ve never really followed professional hockey (just college). It was so much fun!

Blackhawks Game

The rest of the week was just work and trying to relax after work. Oh, and I signed a lease for my new apartment on Thursday! I get the keys on the 21st. I probably won’t be able to move until the weekend after, but I’m excited to have found a place so quickly, even though money has been super tight.

Friday was pretty slow at work. Most people on my team work from home on Fridays (something I hope to get to do after a few weeks or so here). Friday night I went out to dinnerย with Ben and friends which was a lot of fun. I slept in on Saturday while Ben went to work (seriously, I slept until like 11) and then I met Ben at his gym where I finallllllly let go of my ego and had him put me through a workout. My booty is sorrrrrrre today.

The rest of the afternoon was super chill, which I love. Ben and I watched football, a movie, some Netflix … nothing crazy, but it was really nice after a long, stressful week.

Today (Sunday as I’m writing this) we woke up a little late, and then I headed over to The Vig to meet my friend Amanda for brunch. Amanda and I worked together in Milwaukee years ago at an ad agency and kept in touch for years until she moved to Chicago with her husband a few years ago. I saw here one time while I was visiting and now I’m living here, so we had to catch up!

I had a Bloody Mary & Chicken and Waffles, which was good! The vibe of the place was really cool.

The Vig

The Vig

The rest of Sunday was centered around the Packer game (OBVIOUSLY AND YAY THEY WON) and getting ready for the week. Let’s just say … I know I’ve only been in Chicago for a week, but I’m absolutely loving it. It helps that I get to be close to my favorite person, I’m sure. ๐Ÿ™‚ But I just feel so alive and excited to try new things! I think this is exactly what I needed.

Okay, enough gushing. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Tell me something that you’re looking forward to in the comments below.

The weekend I moved to Chicago …

Well, sort of. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Okay, so “technically” I’m only in a temporary living spot at my boyfriend’s (he and his cousinย are THE BEST for letting my crash here) and my apartment lease in Green Bay is finished until the end of February, BUT I’m counting this as the weekend I became a Chicago-resident. Just let me have it, okay? It’s been a long week. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Friday I got up, got a few things finished around my apartment and then headed off for Chicago. I stopped at Trader Joe’s in Milwaukee to pick up a few food items to keep at Ben’s and then off to Chicago I went. Once I got to Chicago, Ben and I traveled the FAR JOURNEY (aka two blocks away) to an apartment showing. Friday night was pretty relaxed – I was supposed to hang out with a girlfriend, but she bailed (boooo) but it was actually okay because my lower back was KILLING me. Ben’s cousin wasn’t home all weekend and Ben had plans with his family Friday night, so I ordered myself too much Thai food and hung out on the couch. Much needed.

Saturday I woke up with Ben and went to Starbucks while he trained his clients at the gym. He came over after his sessions and worked with me for awhile on my application for the apartment (fingers crossed). The rest of the day was extremely chill. I was pretty nervous on-and-off all weekend (poor Ben) so I went in and out of “quiet time” (aka my brain shuts down and goes off into stress lala land). We watched a few things on Netflix, made some dinner and then headed out to the suburbs for a late hockey game. We didn’t get back into the city until almost 1 a.m., so sleep time it was!

Sunday we slept in a *tiny* bit and then continued with the laziness – well, I did. Ben cleaned his apartment and did some work while I watched football on the couch. I did get up and help him hang some stuff on the walls and then meal prepped some rice and turkey meat for the week. We headed out to the suburbs for a quick Target stop and then another hockey game. I’m all about those hockey games – plus it got me out of my nervous funk for a little while.

Unfortunately I didn’t sleep much since today was the first day at my new job!

New Job in Chicago

It was an extremely overwhelming day and I got maybe four hours of sleep last night so that didn’t help. From 7:45-3 I was in orientation, then was taken to my desk. The corporation is gigantic and there are so many things to do/know, and that’s not even more my job! To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. Thankfully my boss let me go around 4:20, but I still hit traffic (another thing I was overwhelmed by). I got back to Ben’s place right before he left to go trainย a few more clients and I just crumpled into a ball of stress. THIS POOR GUY – someone buy him a bazillion gallons of ice cream and send it from me, please? He’s the best.

So now it’s almost 8 p.m. and I’m just getting to write this blog. I’m *thinking* about going to the gym at my job tomorrow morning, but I’m going to talk to a smart trainer I know about it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I don’t want to overextend myself, so I’ll see what he thinks. What do you think?

Also, apologies – I only have one picture but basically just picture me stressed and quiet all weekend.

How do you deal with the stress of a new job, new city or new anything?

Weekend Recap: A Sleepy NYE in Chicago

Happy New Year, friends! I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend and rang in the New Year in whatever style works for you.

Ben and I got home from our road trip (recaps of that coming the rest of this week!) late on Friday night, so we slept in a bit on Saturday which was AMAZING. Once we finally got up, we headed out to the suburbs to pick up Ben’s car from his parents’ house and then headed back into the city where we didn’t move from the couch the rest of the day. SO lazy.

After some Thai takeout (yum), we got ready to head out to Ben’s cousin’s place for a fun night of hanging out with lots of fun people. We had a couple of drinks, stuck around for the NYE countdown at midnight and then headed up to the rooftop of the building. Got a picture with my man … ๐Ÿ™‚

chicago NYE

And then we headed back to Ben’s place to go to bed because we’re old and tired.

Now it’s Sunday and I’m currently sitting at Starbucks with Ben, writing this post while he gets some work done. My gym job and social media job are officially done (woo!) so I’m just focusing on the last few days of work this week at the college and then back to Chicago next weekend except PERMANENTLY. I’ll head back to Green Bay later this evening and then I’ll be figuring stuff out this week. I can’t believe 2017 is here – time for some BIG changes, friends!

I’ll have 3-4 posts about my road trip with Ben coming up this week as well as a requested story of how Ben and I met (thanks, Liz!) soon, too. I’ll also keep you all updated on the move and all the craziness (good and bad!) that come with it. I’m so excited to get back into blogging and vlogging – the things I’m passionate about have taken the backseat the past few months due to so much craziness with my three jobs. I hope you’ll stick around for the ride. ๐Ÿ™‚

How was your NYE? Did you do anything fun or were you pretty low-key? ย

Weekend Recap: Wedding Weekend

It’s officially Christmas season! Now if only the rain would go away. I’m not a snow girl, but this rain/gloom is worse than snow in my opinion. Plus, it makes it feel a little more Christmassey. ๐Ÿ™‚

So I don’t have too many pictures from the weekend because *gasp* I was living in the moment, but Thanksgiving was crazy up north at my mom and dad’s home. Friday morning I woke up, worked out and headed out to Milwaukee to pick up Ben for the weekend. We went to Bel Air Cantina for an early dinner, walked around a park that had a bunch of Christmas lights and then headed up to Green Bay for the night.

Saturday was a slow morning of cooking and watching some Netflix before getting ready for Kayla’s wedding! The ceremony was at 2 (and we weren’t allowed to take pictures – bride’s rules!) and then Ben and I headed over to Lambeau Field to check it out. He’s an avid Bears fan (aka Packers hater) so I had to show him a real team’s stadium. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After a quick late lunch, Ben and I headed over the venue for the reception! I was actually in charge of taking photos and videos (along with a few other girls) for the reception, so I don’t have many photos of my own …

Sunday was a full travel day – I drove Ben back to Milwaukee to the train, drove back to Green Bay and spent the rest of the evening working on my social media clients. Monday is ROUGH, ya’ll. Send some positive vibes my way, please. I’m hoping this week pipes up a bit! ๐Ÿ™‚

Weekend Recap: I’ll be back soon, Chicago!

Hi friends!

Weekend recap time – only two days late. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve actually been waiting on discount codes from a sponsored post, otherwise this would’ve been up yesterday. I’m also going to write a post on all three of my events last week, so stay tuned for that!

So let’s start with last Friday. I got up, worked out in the hotel fitness room …

Hotel Workout

Pretty good little room for a crazy hotel (you know if you’re a part of my Snapchat fam) ๐Ÿ™‚

After my workout, I got my last free breakfast buffet with my colleague and then we got all packed up and ready to go. We drove to Naperville for a meeting with three of my alumni boar members, did a venue check and had a wonderful lunch with them. No pics. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After a long afternoon of that (that’s what happens when you have four talkers in one room ha!) my colleague drove me downtown to stay with Ben for the weekend.

And that’s my weekend …

(I’m just getting ready for the comments)

Ben is a guy I’ve been seeing whenever possible for the last couple of months and, after this weekend, is my boyfriend. WHOA GIRL. I know. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll tell you more about him later. Maybe. Probably. So, now at least you have the basics.

Chicago weekend

So, Friday night I spent with Ben and his friends out at a taco bar (which I forget the name of) and then we went to a bar to play pool afterwards (or for me to watch everyone play pool because I suck).

Saturday morning Ben had to work (he’s a personal trainer so Saturday morning clients!) so I went with him and sat at a Starbucks to get some work done. I did get to meet up with Marette that morning! So we were able to chat about all things life, but of course we forgot to take a picture. ๐Ÿ™‚

Around 1, I went over to the gym and checked out his space. We were both starving, so we hit up a sushi place as you can see in the picture above and then went back to his place and hung out. He had some work to do and I was basically still in a coma from my week of events so we sat on the couch watching too many episodesย of New Girl. Later that night he had a hockey game, so I went with him and a few of his family members to watch the game. So basically a pretty amazing Saturday. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sunday we hit up a brunch place (DO YOU SEE THE FRENCH TOAST WE GOT?!) and then got a little bit of work done before I had to take the train back to Milwaukee where my sister picked me up to take me back to Green Bay!

The rest of the night I watched the Packers lose (boo) and got a few things done around the house. Wonderful weekend!

I had both Monday and Tuesday off this week, so basically all I did was workout and clean. See?

Workout Photo

It’s weird working out when the sun is up.

So that was my weekend! Probably the best one I’ve had in a long, long time! ๐Ÿ™‚ I work tonight until 7 p.m. and tomorrow I work 8-11 a.m. before I head up to my parent’s house for dinner with the fam. Friday I head to MKE to pick up some boy to come with me to a wedding this weekend. ๐Ÿ˜‰

How was your weekend? Ready for a short week?
